Beautiful elegant dress. I like the idea of lace coat over a dress.

  3. Another classy look from princess Benedikte.
Perhaps black pantyhose would have looked slightly better.
Is that a bikini tan line on the young girl in the black dress next to Benedikte?

  4. When she arrived at the premises she wore one of her old mink coats. Her sister Queen Margrethe also wears her old furs from time to time during Winter.
As long as the furs are old, I have no problems with that. I wonder how people react in Denmark when they see this. Or are they always been more used to fur coats ? They must also have pro animal organizations, which are occupied with animal rights and the fact that animals can no longer be killed for their fur. Especially if the animals are becoming rare specimen.

Denmark used to have a large mink farming industry and were known for their beautiful craftsmanship of mink coats. Early in the corona pandemic the PM ordered all minks to be killed. This has later been deemed unlawful. I am not Danish, but I have read somewhere that mink farming is allowed again. I am sure strict laws and supervision make sure the animals are treated accordingly. There are so many other animals farmed for food like cattle, pigs chicken and the list could go on and on. Why focus only on minks?

    2. I didn't focus only on mink. I spoke about fur coats in general. It obvious a lot of people don't read the whole reaction before sending an answer.

  5. It’s never too much - it’s never too little.
And she makes it look so easy.
A beautiful young princess who will celebrate her 80th birthday in April of 2024.

  7. Benedikte looked lovely in the black lace dress until I saw the nylons, then it was oh nooooo. Black nylons would have made the outfit perfect, without that fur coat. Sally

  9. Pss Bene looks splendid, very elegant and stylish. Maybe some light black tights would have been a nicer look, regardless beautiful. Oh, the black and diamond pearl earrings are gorgeous! the pearl necklace is the perfect finishing touch. She is always so well groomed.

  11. As always, perfectly elegant and stylish, though agree with all the comments that the tights are not the best colour.

  13. Oh those pearls! My heart nearly stopped, but I was revived with the wave of covetousness that swept over me. HRH is perfectly turned out as always, however, if we are going to nitpick, I am a little distracted by the skirt area of the dress. The gap of underdress showing between the sides of the lace overlay needed to either be wider (making the lace overlay like a tailcoat) or narrower. At the position they are now, it just looks like the dress is a little too small for her, which I am sure is not the case....

  14. Dear No Name 14:27, This is a tiresome topic on this blog. The Danish queen and her family wear their old furs, some of them even belonged to Queen Ingrid - you can tell because some of them have been lengthened - and I am quite sure that the Danes have positive opinions. Do you expect the queen to burn them? Copenhagen has icy cold winds in winter, go there, buy an old fur and you will love the extra warmth.

    1. It is obvious you did not read my reaction completely. I said I have no problems with old furs. I have one myself. I was just wondering what the general opinion is in Denmark about people who are wearing furs. I never said the queen should burn her old furs. In my country and in the surrounding countries, women do not dare anymore to wear their furs. About 10 years ago there were women who have been attacked in the streets because they wore a fur coat. Some of the members of these pro animal organizations were throwing eggs or tomatoes to women with a fur coat.

  15. Dear Anonymous, I did read your entire message but it sounded somewhat contradictory. Your reply offers more details that were simply missing.
