On November 20, Queen Maxima of The Netherlands presented the 2023 Cultural Fund Prize at Theater Zuidplein in Rotterdam. Female Economy is the winner of the Cultuurfonds Prize this year. The prize with an amount of 100,000 euros is awarded by the Prince Bernhard Culture Fund (Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds) each year to a person or organization that has contributed to culture, nature or science.

ردحذفI like this dress and QMax looks great but...the bespoke buttons and their placement are unfortunate. I think this dress--minus those buttons--is a great choice for QMax and fits her beautifully.

Oooo...I like this dress. I like the combo of fuschia and red, the lacey embellishments, and the silhouette of the fit. But I'd have LOVED this dress if it didn't have all those things like Christmas tree decorations on the pink part of the dress. A few maybe, but not so many - and perhaps if they were much smaller in size..but, that's Claes Iversen for you.

ردحذفAnyone else getting vintage Sixties' vibes with those pop-art circles that decorated just about everything at that time, from garments to bathroom tiles? But nevertheless, Maxima makes it happen and looks simply marvelous. This type of dress (cut and length) is perfect for her. (GM)

ردحذفThis look is sensational; combined with her enthusiasm, her delightful smile, her lack of vanity and perfectionism, we can somehow grasp the key to her attraction. Of course there are messy performances but, I don’t really know why, one must forgive her. I just did some research, Claes Iversen is Danish but works in Holland, interesting.

Surprised to read that his life started in Denmark.
He was a bit late coming into the international fashion world (about 17 years ago.)
I wonder if he has ever taken Dutch nationality?

ردحذفWhat a compliment to Queen Maxima when the organizers of the event are willing to change the colour of the red carpet to pink so that it fits in with Maxima’s ensemble.

If you look back at photos, Claes Iversen has done several variations to this red dress with its lace encrustations.
IMO, Claes Iversen works well with Maxima. I think he plays on her bubbly personality to step outside the classics and create pieces with a (little) touch of controversy.
This dress definitely deserved to be worn again. QM looks fantastic!
ردحذفInteresting to notice that most readers of this blog didn't like the Claes Iversen dress the first time the queen wore it and that today (so far) there's no complaining about the inserts of the shoes.
Perhaps they're not the same readers now as when she first wore the dress five years ago. Or may be their opinions have changed.

Tend to disagree with most of the posts. The dress looks like something exploded and slithered colour wise down, and she did not bother to check the mirror for usual hair issues. My personal opinion, glad this is a blog where differing opinion's are put forth. Edwina

Lovely silhouette and cut, but I this dress is too much. And somehow she fits in as part of the art piece she unveiled. Her majesty gets a no from me.
