On September 12, the Duchess of Sussex arrived in Germany for the 2023 Invictus Games. On September 13, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the Wheelchair Basketball preliminary match played between Ukraine and Australia at the Merkur Spiel Arena on the 4th day of the Invictus Games Dusseldorf 2023, held for the 6th time this year.

The Invictus Games is an international multi-sport event established in 2014 by the Duke of Sussex. The adaptive event is aimed at wounded, injured or sick Armed Forces personnel and veterans, and it takes its name from the Latin word 'Invictus', meaning 'unconquered'.

      Why is it for the sake of nastiness, people were also criticizing when Queen Letizia wore shorts and that was while on holiday in Mallorca!
      Shorts are for the beach or if you yourself take part in sports, not for an official engagement! Yes, she is no longer a working royal, but she is appearing here as the wife of the founder of the Invictus Games , so I would suggest some nice ankle length trousers or a skirt to go with the upper part of the outfit.

    I don't think that D of Sussex is dressed appropriately for the event, a pair of slim off white pants would have been a better choice. This outfit would be fine in California but not at the Invictus Games. mjt

      It's nothing to do with who is wearing it. This outfit would be inappropriate for anyone out of their teens (apart from on holiday, of course). In fact, thinking of the various teen Princesses of Spain, Denmark, Belgium, Norway, Netherlands, I cannot imagine any of them turning up at a similar event wearing shorts. It's not ageist, racist, Meghan hating, just a statement of fact. Her dress the other day was great and the leggings and T shirt she wore on another occasion were okay for a sporting event but this just no!

      According to Annie there must be strict lists of clothes for women in their 20's, women in their 30's, women in their 40's and so on. Next up will be haircuts and hairstyles, heel heights, clothes for widows, clothes for mothers in law, etc. etc.
      Why compare teenaged princesses with a 41 year old private citizen? She represents herself. It was made quite clear to her that the titles were not to be used, but the commoners still want to remind her about royalty when it suits. As long as hubby does not mind, it does not matter. In fact, he seems delighted.

      Are shorts really banned from all society, with the exception of beaches, in Europe? I am speechless. This is a very chic outfit, appropriate for going out for a bite to eat, shopping, or a sporting event. These are not shorts one would wear to the beach. It is very difficult to know if the criticism is real or extremely harsh because it is Meghan.

      What I remember is that she complained to the world about how hard wearing color was in the BRF, so she felt she had to wear only neutrals then, implying that she would have liked to wear color, but really couldn't. This is what she said to us. But in real life, neutrals are what she likes to wear. She was manipulating us, and it makes me feel righteous indignation .

    Her legs are not her best assets. Never have been. Not body shaming - we all have something, some where, that's a little quirky or just not the best aspect of our physical appearance. (I'm a little too "hippy." No matter what size I am. A size 16 or size 8 - and I've been both - my hips are a little to wide in portion to the rest of my body.) IMO she has always looked her best when she de-emphasize them. For these type of shorts your really have to have FABULOUS legs. Skinny jeans, casual trousers, light, flowy long summer dress would have been much better.
