Another 400.000 € down that drain. Nobody cares for the Invictus games, they don’t add extra value like Olympic games for example that have a marketing effect for the region that hosts the games. There’s only sparse media coverage. And security for Mr. and Mrs.Windsor costs around the mentioned sum - ‚proudly‘ presented by german taxpayers. Okay, talking about fashion: she’s wearing a black dress and black shoes, he‘s wearing a black suit and a blue shirt. Amazing. Really something to uuhh and ahhh about. Janine Bömermann

If you had an ounce of empathy, you might be able to imagine what it must be like for a service member to be in the military at peak physical conditioning and return home permanently disabled. You say these games add no "extra value like Olympic games for example that have a marketing effect for the region that hosts the games". What about the value it adds to the lives of those competing? Do you suggest they are not worth the effort because there is no financial gain for the host city or country? Your attitude is disgusting. It smacks of pure hatred. Hatred for Harry and Meghan. Your hatred for them is so strong that you hate every single thing that has a connection to them, big or small. I don't single you out. You are one of a group of people that believe every negative thing you read that supports your side. The same is true for the other side that support them at all costs. What is bothering me is how you can find fault with the Invictus Games. Put your personal feelings aside, cut the snarky comments and place the focus where it belongs.

For the past 10 years? No. Janine came to a fashion blog and started to rant about about the cost and that, in her opinion, no one cares about the Invictus Games. Her final thoughts about what they were wearing were less than sincere. Janine and some others had an agenda when making their comments. They had nothing to do with fashion or at the very least why they were being featured. The option has always existed to ignore the posts that don't interest us, but mature adult behavior ceases to exist when Harry and Meghan, or the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, (not Mr. and Mrs. Windsor) grace this blog.

She is not titled princess, if you wanted to call her by the title princess it would be more correct to call her Princess Harry (the same way as Princess Michael).

I agree with you, the comments are unkind and uncalled for. People are too invested in people they don’t know (and I mean both ways - some dislike her as though they have been personally wronged by her, and some love her to the point of idolatry, none of which is healthy).

The Duchess of Sussex looks great, not only in the outfit, but body-wise she is in great shape. I personally think the all black outfit suits her very well - the belt being black compliments her shape.

There seems to be a misunderstanding regarding title. Yes Meghan is a Duchess but she is still a Princess of the United Kingdom. Same applies to Kate as Duchess of Cambridge and Princess of Wales. Sophie, as Countess and now Duchess of Edinburgh is also a Princess of the United Kingdom. Ditto Duchess of Gloucester and Duchess of Kent. All of these ladies are 100% Princesses of the UK by marriage only, they do not have Princess before their forenames. During her lifetime the public was constantly reminded that Diana was officially called The Princess of Wales not Princess Diana because she was not born as one. Béatrice and Eugenie (like their Aunt Princess Anne The Princess Royal) have Princess before their forenames because they are of princesses of the blood. Ditto Princess Charlotte and Princess Lilibet. Either way, by blood birth or by marriage, all are HRH including Meghan and her daughter Lilibet.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Anonymous16/9/23 03:52

To Anon 03.31 - you state “she is not styled Princess” yet you explain that she can be addressed like Princess Michael of Kent. Recall that Prince Michael was not given a dukedom, was never on the civil list and undertook no official engagements as members of the royal family. Be that as it was and still is, Christine Princess Michael of Kent is a Princess and HRH.

You say Meghan can be called or known as Princess Harry like Princess Michael. I get your point but your explanation still clarifies and styles Meghan as a Princess. That is, HRH Meghan Princess Harry, Duchess of Sussex. This is a mouthful so Invariably, people will call her Princess Meghan (as they sometimes do with Kate) just to cut corners because she is a daughter-in-law of King Charles III, a reigning sovereign. Meghan’s husband is the son of a king, brother of a future king and uncle of a future king. It’s quite understandable when people refer to Meghan and Kate as Princesses.

Quite frankly, UK is rather snobbish. All other royal houses name their daughters in law appropriately at marriage - Denmark, Jordan, Luxembourg, Liechstentein, Morocco, Norway, Sweden, etc
