    4. It’s possible that King Charles will give a mention in his Christmas message this year of the work done by the bloggers in NewMyRoyals to help him and his family in the correct way of behaving in public. 😀

Love to see this couple enjoying their formal visits. Queen Camilla’s dress is very much her usual style and colour. Can someone who’s into jewellery please explain the vanishing brooch?

  3. Lovely color but....Is it a coat? Is it a dress? Is there a dress under the coat? Whatever it is it looks a little sloppy to me.

  4. The Queen looks lovely in this shade of blue.

Same dress, different color. I wish she’d venture out with her style. There are other styles she could look even better in.

  6. I think, overall, Camilla has done well on the fashion front for this tour.
Plus lots of smiles with a beam of enjoyment whilst doing the job.
The wardrobe team behind her have worked well.
Perhaps a meeting with a bit of brainstorming on what’s best to wear when getting on/off a plane and onto a windy tarmac.
But I’m sure she’ll be happy to get back home for a good pot of tea, the earthy smells of the English countryside, her boots and unbuttoned cardigan.
Once a country girl, always a country girl.

A plane to go from Paris to Bordeaux? I thought King Charles was concerned with global warming.

They were to travel by train, but someone leaked their itinerary, creating a security risk. So, it was either cancel the trip or go by plane.

    2. I was a bit astonished as well. I heard something about taking the train, but it seems that was ditched for whatever reasons.

@ Anne-Cécile. He came by plane from London instead of taking the Eurostar. Queen Elizabeth took the Eurostar to go to France. And then he took the plane again to go from Paris to Bordeaux. When he was in Paris a soldier had to stay near the plain with a rifle in his arms. I saw the pictures on Getty images. Yes telling others what to do is always so easy, but doing it themselves that's too difficult. I've heard that he takes a helicopter when he is in the U.K. to go from one castle to another. Rose

    4. by train 499km (2 hours) but if they travel with regular lines, not really an issue since it would fly anyway. I hope they were not travelling by private jet. We should be more often informed about that for all royals.

They flew maybe due to the security nightmare for the other passengers on the train with 2 royals on board. Charles's "people" considered what was best for all concerned.

Other than that, at least Charles helped Camilla down one step here after he was told there was considerable backlash after he left Camilla to deal with the harsh wind while descending the airplane steps on arrival in Paris. |Melanie|

    6. So, they travelled by train (partly) when visiting Germany, but they had to change plans in France due to security details on the train rides being leaked. They flew in to Paris Orly by HM's Flight (Airbus A321), not commercial. I assume the very same plane was used for going to Bordeaux and then back to the UK.

Voyager par avion est pratique, sûr et rapide en ce qui les concerne. Pourquoi s’en priver.

One would have thought Camilla has lived in the spotlight long enough to know, a flowing dress/coat dress is not appropriate to wear on or off a plane, with all the winds that are usual around an airport. Or at the very least, she should have had weights put in her hemlines, to help hold them down, or a sleek slip that would have kept her legs hidden, even though the dress/coat dress was flapping around in the wind.

    1. Dear Anon 22:48
What you say is absolutely correct?
But it appears that due to a security problem, what should have been their arrival in a train station was changed with (perhaps) short notice to an arrival by plane on a windy tarmac. Most probably, a quick change for a suitable airport arrival outfit for Camilla wasn’t possible.
