Today, the Princess Royal turned 73. Princess Anne was born on 15 August 1950 at Clarence House, as the second child of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh. In honour of the special occasion, King Charles shared two photographs on the royal family's official Instagram page. The first photo was taken at Clarence House in July, 1951, the second photo was taken at Buckingham Palace on Coronation Day. Princess Anne is mother to Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall. The royal also has five grandchildren.

ReplyDeleteWhat lovely pictures which show the bond between them. The first picture of the two, in all their innocence, at a time when they knew not what the future held, is precious. Just a brother who loved his baby sister. The second one, 72 years later, shows that their affection for each other continues, and that that the Princess Royal happily supports her brother, the King. I hope the Princess Royal has a joyous, happy birthday.

Also, how very lucky and blessed she is to be a daughter that got to spend 72 years with her mother. Most of us are lucky if we get more than 40 or 50.

It's not just a celebration but a way to mark a well spent life which keeps being inspirational to many people.
The royal princess is above all a loyal sister, a strong woman who has always supported her brother in every moment of his life. Charles repays this loyalty with gratitude, exemplified by his love for Anne's children. I am sorry that William does not have such heartfelt and deep support from his brother.
