On August 23, 2023, Queen Silvia of Sweden celebrated "Pensioners' Day 2023" at Ekebyhov Palace Park in Ekerö. The Queen met with local citizens during the event. The event has been celebrated since 1998 following an initiative by Queen Silvia. The first several years were held in Drottningholm Palace Park in Stockholm and since 2000 Ekerö municipality has been responsible for the annual event.
