I like the Queens choice of outfit ;in keeping with the water theme the dress is shimmering. The little girls outfit looks nice; not sure about the finger up the nose.(Tara)

I love Queen Silvia's gown! She looks marvelous--and the gown looks great on her. I'm sure I could be wrong but I think her gown is new. Pictures of KCG and QS with the award-winner and his family are great--especially of the little girl who appears to be fascinated by KCG!

  4. This is a lovely gown, the fit and design if perfect for the Queen, love the color of her shoes and small evening clutch. Her earrings are pretty. The color of her hair looks splendid and suits her well. She looks fabulous.

Sylvia is beautiful and stylish as always. The blond lady , (who was so well dressed in the pink jacket/white trousers at the day time event) is so elegant.

Both Queen Sylvia and the lady in the black gown look lovely.
    Q. Sylvia's choice is beautiful and not over-done at all. She has a wonderful figure.

  7. A very beautiful, stylish, youngish 80 year old Queen and looking at her usual best for this occasion.
She never hits a false note with her outfits and stays well away from anything OTT.
Along with her husband, they always make a handsome couple.
I like the softness with her latest hair colour.
The lady in the black gown gets an honorable mention.
Again, another royal lady who is not just a pretty face.
Apart from heading some very important international organisations, Queen Silvia speaks 6 languages - Swedish, German which is her native language, her mother's language of Portuguese, as well as French, Spanish, and English.
P.S. forgot the earrings …… love them. [2]

The Queens dress is great. Elegant and simple relying on the beautiful fabric to do the trick. Excellent choice for the Water awards. Professor Rinaldo´s dress is fabulous. Elegant without fuss.

@Ladyofthemanor. Prof. Andrea Rinaldo is the man who receives the Water Prize from king Carl Gustaf in the last picture. The lady in the black evening dress is the wife of the Mayor of Stockholm (the man with the big silver necklace), I think (picture n° 3). Rose

My mistake, prof Rinaldo seems to be a man. I don't know who the blond lady is but her dress is fab.

@Ladyofthemanor. Andrea is Italian for Andrew. f.ex. Andrea Casiraghi = Princess Caroline's son, Andrea Bocelli = Italian singer. Rose

Queen Sylvia's is so beautiful. The fabric of the dress is so wonderful. The simple classic cut was the best her designer could do. One can recognize the water theme in this dress. Hair style and color as well as her accessories are chosen very well. I like her kitten heels. Rose

Sylvia looks wonderful. Beautiful dress in a color that compliments her well. And the little girl is so very unimpressed with it all…very cute!

Silvia’s hair is glorious, thick, good color, excellently styled. I like her gown, pattern, color and fabric. But…and I do not enjoy saying this, she needs a better brassiere. You can tell that her gown was designed for the “girls” to sit higher. Her posture doesn’t help. I love the black gown on the lady with the blond short hair. Will we finally get rid of the overly long hair styles on mature women? I hope.

I so agree with you regarding the hair cut. What makes the mayor’s wife super chic in my opinion is her hair cut. I am so tired of the long and girly hair of women who are not girls anymore. Maybe the hair extension era will sooncome to an end.

      @Anonymous 24/8 15:26.
Do you realize that you are talking about a woman who will become 80 years old in December ? How will you look like when you will have her age ? There are other Queens in Europe who are younger than QS and have a worse posture than she has.
      @ Anonymous 28/8 22:14
Difficult to compare the mayor's wife with QS. She is still a young woman and yes I like her hairstyle very much, but I saw her never with longer hair, maybe there is a longer hairstyle that is beautiful for her too. In any case I like QS hairstyle very much, she looks good like that. Does she has extensions ? Maybe but it doesn't show. All depends on the quality of your natural hair. The mayor's wife's hair looks healthy although the blond color is not natural. I hope for her she can continue to color her hair without any damage. One never know what the future will bring. Rose

  14. Queen Silvia's dress is lovely as is the black dress worn by the Mayoress.. The smartly dressed kiddies look wonderful too (loving the fact that the wee girl appears to be picking her nose in the first pic she is in! )

    1. Well sometimes urgent things just have to be attended to even if you are in the company of a King and a Queen.
I wonder what this little girl will think when she looks at this photo in 20 years time. OR maybe she has already decided to be an anti-royalist 😁

@ deadeggs. I suppose we will have to consider this as funny. The young girl cannot decide yet if she wishes to be an anti-royalist because she doesn't know what it is in the 1st place. Everything depends on the education she receives from her parents and on the kind of people she will encounter in the future.
Didn't we decide to talk about fashion only ? If I had wrote something like this, I am sure I had received tons of bad comments.

    3. Dear Rose, it was meant to be a light hearted comment. Nothing more, nothing less. Every day I laugh a lot and I smile a lot and whenever I can I like to make other people happy. I find it a good medication and it's free.
I well understand that humour is appreciated and understood in different ways in different countries.
I know that what I say and think is funny, may not have the same impact and interpretation in another country.
