On August 25, 2023, Queen Margrethe of Denmark attended the opening gala of 2023 Aarhus Festival, of which she is patron, at Aarhus Concert Hall. The theme for 2023 is "Mind the Gap", highlighting the need for solidarity in the community. The festival is one of the largest art and culture festivals of the Nordic countries, with about 100 events taking place in 10 days. The festival has existed since 1965, when the Queen became patron of the festival.
