On August 3, 2023, King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain held the traditional summer reception and dinner for authorities of the Balearic Islands and representatives of all sectors of Balearic Islands society at the Marivent Palace in Palma de Mallorca. Former Queen Sofia also attended the reception. Queen Letizia wore a new ruffle midi dress by Desigual.

Sofia looking lovely in her pyjamas. Letizia's dress is lovely, if only she covered her shoulders. Letizia's tan is so strong, i wonder if it enhanced.

DeleteI like the Desigual dress on Qn Letizia, and also generally speaking. Regarding sum tanning, please look at the hands, neck and face of the King they are show sun tan as well. I hope they protected themselves adequately, sun is so strong over there.
DeleteTan police indeed! Letizia and Felipe look wonderful with their glorious tans! They both are both beautifully attired, Felipe in his impeccably tailored suit and Letizia in her beautiful dress. I completely disagree with comments below that Letizia should not be in off-the-shoulder designs. She looks amazing.

DeleteI'm liking the dresses of all the ladies we can see in the various photos. They all look good. The Desigual dress is beautiful. I have many pieces of that brand from recent years so perhaps I'm a little biased, lol.

Everyone looks great. I'm loving the Letizia and Sofia's dresses, what great choices for warm Spanish evenings. However, King Felipe takes the prize tonight, he looks as handsome as ever with his deep tan and that light pink shirt (and that suit doesn't hurt ;) )

DeleteI'm not too sure about the sun tan; a bit too much ambre solaire. The pattern of the dress is nice; she is a bit too bony around the neck for off the shoulder.

Cette robe aux grosses fleurs est très rafraîchissante mais à mon humble avis, légèrement plus courte de quelques centimètres, elle serait parfaite pour l'équlibrer avec ses chaussures compensées. Le roi est toujours impeccablement vêtu ; la couleur de sa cravate sur le rose clair de sa chemise ; a été très bien choisie !

DeleteLetizia looks excellent and I also love Sophia's somewhat oversized outfit, it looks good and I am sure it is also very pleasant to wear in summer. Felipe is, of course, perfection. - As for off the shoulder if your bones are visible, just a tiny question to consider: Is "bone shaming" better than, or different from, fat shaming? (GM)

I love this dress on Letitzia. It fits perfectly and looks just right for a warm evening on the island of Mallorca. Yes she looks quite tanned but so does the King. Maybe the two of them enjoyed a private holiday away from it all on a private yacht or something like that. Good for them. Where I live no chance to get sunkisssed this summer as it rains everyday :-(( I do like Queen Sofias blouse, but I think with the wide trousers in the same pattern it is too much. Would have looked better with a white pair of trousers and cream or grey shoes instead of black. The other ladies pictured look good too. I especially like the white dress with the curved black linings and back v-neck. Pefectly accessorized with the bun and pink clutch.

ReplyDeleteQueen Letizia looks pretty, very summery dress, though I am not a fan of the ruffle at the bottom of her dress. The color an design of the dress is lovely. King Felipe, always looks so well groomed. He has a wonderful tailor, his suits are always an impeccable fit. Such a tall, handsome man. Wonderful to see Queen Sophia. The lady in 2n last photo has a very interesting white, with black trim dress, I 'd love to see the front of it. Looks to be a lovely dress.

Q.Sofia obviously chose what she felt comfortable in and honestly I do not have anything to complain about.
Weirdly enough this look doesn't work for me. Letizia looks great and the dress is wonderful, ruffles and all. But somehow the two together... I think the dress is too flowy and unstructured for her tiny petite frame, it wears her, not the other way around. But then I totally get that you don't want to wear a sheath dress in the burning heat. It's still a smashing look, just not my personal favourite on her.
