  1. Ouah, c'est une couleur qui en jette pour convenir à merveille à la reine Mathilde surtout avec sa blondeur ; j'aime bien également celle de la dame à droite de la photo !

Lovely color that suits Q Mathilde well.
I wonder what the dress actually looks like. The sleeves seem asymmetrical and the hem is tilting. I would like to see more pictures. The boat neck is a good choice for her.

There are no more pictures. A meeting in Laeken with lunch at the castle for the Federal Government rarerly shows more than one picture.

    2. Yes I am puzzled by the hemline, does not seem to be intentionally asymetric. Anyway she looks lovely.

  3. A lovely pink color for summer.
I am however not a fan of uneven hems.
Looking at what the other ladies are wearing it seems that Belgium is not suffering heatwave conditions like so much of Europe.

No, we have very strange summer weather. It is not cold, it is not raining very much but the sky is most of the time grey. Sometimes the sun shines in the evening from 17:00 until 20:00. We had hot weather in June, I hope for us the summer is not over yet.

No, it's about 22°celsius here. Comfortable summer weather but a bit too much rain for my taste. We're not hoping for heatwaves over here!

Mathilde looks great, very appropriate. Love that Philippe matches this colour. Sidenote: I don't see Petra De Sutter in the picture.

I love this color on Mathilde, very flattering for her compexion. In fact, looking at the whole group, the color palette in this picture is amazing, as if they all got a memo on color coordination, except for the tall blonde lady on the left wearing red LOL

My thoughts as well about the color palette.

I hadn't noticed but you are right about the colour coordination. The tall blonde lady is the minister of internal affairs, Annelies Verlinden. She often wears belgian designer clothes as well for these occasions. But indeed, too bad it's a harsh red instead of pink :-)

Uneven hemline, yes. I was not sure if it was on purpose or an accident (like Sophie's red dress today in the blog). Either way, not good. But to put it into (a somewhat funny) perspective: Have a look at the accordion-like trouser legs of all four gentlemen to their right and left sides in the front row. Hilarious!

As all men have the same, could well be current trend in Belgium ?

Beautiful color for Mathilde. Can't see too much of the dress but it looks quite flattering and she looking lovely. The boatneck style looks wonderful on her.

Great dress on Mathilda…beautiful color, boatneck cut, knee length…and nice accessories. Love the King’s coordinated pink tie. Congrats to the couple on the first 10 years!

Lovely dress on the Queen, though it has a strange bend on the one side of the hemline. Wish there were more photos of the side and back to see if it was a one off look, or if it really was made to be offset. Edwina

Lovely shade of pink. Q Mathilde looks nice, wonder if this is one of the nicer NATAN designs. css

It’s certainly bright enough! It suits Queen Mathilde both colour and fit. Is it a designed asymmetric hem or is it just the way the dress has been photographed?

    1. I think it is designed like this. It is an asymmetric cut. One sleeve is straight, the other one has some drapings. On side of the skirt has an even hem, the other side is dropping. Even the belt seems to be pulling to one side. Had to think whether I like it or not. In the end I decided to not like it because there is too much effort to look original. The colour is good on the Queen as is the basic cut and length. With her having a short torso a more narrow belt sitting right above the hips would have been better. I do like the moderate boot neck but still wish she would modernize her helmet hairstyle.

  11. I assume the uneven hemline is on purpose. The color is lovely, fresh hot pink. I dont like the width of the belt. Regardless a lovely presentation by the Queen.
