On June 27, 2023, The Princess of Wales paid a special visit to Southampton to officially open Hope Street - a family-friendly residential community which will pilot a new approach to supporting women in the justice system. Hope Street has been designed by a women's organisation called One Small Thing.

Hope Street ultimately offers a community alternative for women who would likely otherwise be imprisoned unnecessarily owing to lack of safe accommodation or concerns around their wellbeing.

I like it. I don't LOVE it. You can't really go wrong with polka dots and this is about as classic as it gets. I very much like the dress on the model, but somehow it doesn't fully translate onto Catherine. I think her very slim and "straight" body gets a bit overwhelmed by the 80s sleeves and somehow the peplum creates a drop waist that wasn't even intended. I very much like the picture where she's sitting down, but in motion... not so much. I also don't like the shoes at all. Neither on their own, nor in combination with the dress. A monochrome shoe would've been more successful.

A like the femininity of these dresses. I think they give Catherine a lovely shape. She’s worn this a few times. The last time was at Wimbledon. Bea

Sorry can’t say it’s great, another boring outfit for a woman only in her 40s. Her facial expression on the 2nd pic is somehow scary, acting too much Kate!

    1. OMG you found something to complain about …Catherine has a classic style she looks always on top ….as for the second picture, she is in conversation she has an expressive face, why women always are so negative about other women pff

Mary, a wise person gets all the facts before making a judgment. Catherine is not "scary" looking. She is excited to greet a close friend. The lady in pink is Lady Edwina Grosvenor. The Royal family and the Grosvenor family have been friends for years. Ewina's father, Gerald (now deceased), was a close friend to King Charles. Edwina's mother, Natalia, is Prince William's godmother. Edwina's brother, Hugh, the new Duke of Westminster is Prince George's godfather.

I love this entire 1940s outfit on Catherine. She looks beautiful in that first photo. And yes, she is too animated at most of her appearances, she should tone herself down or she'll end up like another shall-we-say very animated queen who loves to be the center of attention. |Melanie|

@Anon 18:04 [Melanie] I think your perspective is completely bass-ackwards. Isn't the point of being a queen TO BE the centre of attention wherever they go? Have you learned nothing from this site? If they aren't the centre of attention then they're not being a queen; they're just an ordinary, common plebe like you (or me, except I'm better dressed), lol.

      About the 40s look.
Really, I just can make it out how a person with so much time on her hands and always ready to generate moot comments like you Is unable to cut out a little bit of time to keep in touch with the latest fashion trends.
I mean, for example, that Kate's shoes are the so called Mary Jane design and they are again on trend now.
The polka dots dress Is very feminine , a classic staple and a bit ' posh' in a very positive way.
I can't find anything off in this outfit.
What Is there to tone down in her look or behaviour?
Your endless and pointless comparisons berween different royal ladies must be just another obsession (comnent at 18:04)
Of course, royals have to get people's attention-, have to be seen to keep alive the meaning and aim of their existence and roles.
      It goes without saying .

I cannot say this is great either. It’s unflattering and just plain boring. One (or twenty) too many similar outfits with no imagination). HM Queen Elisabeth II started her “predictable” outfits way later, in her mid sixties - so the argument doesn’t hold for me.

I'm on the fence about this dress, she always looks great, but there is, as Nika, says something, . Oh well, the lady is almost perfection, so at least something's the is a (minimum) flaw.

I will probably always cringe at polka dots on her from here on out. We have seen too much of them. I still don't like this dress. I disliked the nearly identical version in yellow. She seems to be falling back into her pre-POW style. I prefer in more simple, sophisticated clothes.

Agree. White dress with black polka dots, then black dress with white polka dots. Probably recycling her grand-mother’s wardrobe.

I love the style of the lady in the pink dress, I even like her hair style. I like the colour of Kate's dress not the style; what's with the gatsby shoes, not a fan., as your eyes are drawn to them and not her happy face. The handbag is wrong; Kate needs to choose a style of bag; yes clutch for evening in lots of colours, and then have a style of a day bag also in lots of colours, may I suggest Prada Saffiano leather top (Tara)

The puffy sleeves seem to me exaggerated, but otherwise, the silhouette with that little peplum is very becoming for Catherine and the loveliness of polka dots does not really suffer through repetition. There is a general dislike for these shoes that I don't share - something new in her shoe style repertoire is welcome.

There is too much going on in this dress: dots and peplum and short sleeves etc. The combination with the shoes is bad.
The dress asks for something more playful, like the host in her wonderfull pink dress and flat sandals.

Thanks Mabel! You nail it very well. I don’t like the look, something is just off. And yes, exactly, too much indeed between the polka dots and the shoes, etc …. Terrible fashion choice this time.

  15. Après recherches, il s'avère que la jeune femme en rose est lady Edwina Grosveneur, présidente de l’association et sœur de Hugh Grosveneur , duc de Westminster ; c'est tout ce que j'ai pu trouver !

  17. Call me mad but I like it. The whole outfit. All of it. What I just don't understand around here are snide remarks on her facial expression simply judging by one picture that might have caught her in an unfortunate moment of some sort of grimacing. Or repeating monotonously like a broken record that all the PoW is wearing is "boring". But I guess haters just love to hate.

While I think she looks lovely, as usual, I don't like the peplum here with the polka dots, just too much. Remove the peplum amd it would be perfect. I love the shoes, the retro feel without being gimmicky.

Nice dress. Shame about the shoes. The Princess still looks lovely. She really suits these tea dress styles. I also love the colour of Lady Edwina Grosvenor’s dress but it’s too long and spoiled by the flat sandals

I love this look! The 40's vibe is a great look for her with her willowy figure. The spectator pumps beautifully finish the look (and they are a gorgeous pair of shoes). I love polka dots and it seems Catherine does too--just like everyone else in the world she wears things she likes and things that make her feel good and confident. She looks fabulous here!

  21. Fantàstic vestit, li queda superentallat, realçant la seva magnífica figura. Per sort, els ròdols blancs, no són gaire grans. L´únic, que trobo que es pot millorar són les sabates.....nude per exemple o blau marí i això sí! amb sivella.
