Both these lovely queens look splendid!
There's nothing I don't like, and everything that I do like: each lady's dress design, the combination of bright, hot colours, their shoes, and especially their large picture hats. Maxima's is her signature hat style, and Mathilde's 30's/40's chapeau suits her to perfection. At first I thought Mathilde might have been slightly over-dressed, but after seeing their formal reception by the Mayor of Antwerp and his speech, her style is appropriate.
A joy once more to see 4-some together, enjoying their duties and each others company.

Fantastic! What an amazing couple of days. Very nice ladies and outfits. I was lucky to meet Maxima once. She's mesmerizing in real. The pictures aren't always able to show that. I love the hats and colors.

Both looking lovely. Its a great colour on Maxima. Notice they both have the shoes with the plastic bit in them. I guess they must be comfy but look horrible km

These beautiful bright colors on the two queens are fantastic. Not everyone could wear HMQ Mathilde’s outfit, but she owns it! Her dress reminds me so much of one worn recently by HMQ Letitia that I had to do a side-by-side comparison. They’re different, but how interesting to see how two people style a very similar dress.

@Anya. The flowers on the fabric of Queen Mathilde's dress are embroided (jacquard style).

The Queens are power twining again…it even looks like they are wearing the same shoes in different colors (quelle horreur 😂)

This is like one of these "Where's Waldo" picture puzzles. So much going on - in a good way. These two really know how to give the public what they want. Maxima is bringing her A game, this outfit, while way over the top, is absolute perfection. The colour is gorgeous, the draping on the shoulder brings some interest and the accessories tie the whole thing together. Love the jewellery she busted out! Still not a fan of the gloves personally, but if she must wear them, this is the way to go! And while I'm not overly fond of the orange combo Mathilde is wearing, I'm glad she opted for a floral design to contrast Maxima.

Wow, I LOVE the colours! And the hats. :-) A wonderful state visit, all in all. The Queens seem to have coordinated their dresses beforehand.

The last day of the state visit was again a day of "flag dressing". Queen Mathilde's dress has been designed by Dries Van Noten and is new since the month of May. The hat and the coat are new. The hat is made by Fabienne Delvigne. She also have a new orange clutch. Queen Maxima's repeated dress has been designed by Natan. Since she has several hats which also have been created by Fabienne Delvigne it is possible that this one is from the same designer. I don't know for sure. Even the mayor of Antwerp Bart De Wever (next to Queen Mathilde) was wearing an orange tie. In the port of Antwerp King Phillippe and King Willem Alexander visited the "Marie-Louise" a famous boat of the Belgian Navy. Queen Maxima and Queen Mathilde visited a boat belonging to the Dutch Navy. It was one of the most important state visits that took place in Belgium since a long time. I wonder if we will see such a state visit again unless King Charles and Queen Camilla decide to come on state visit to Belgium.

  10. They all look fabulous. The only thing I would love to change is the color of King Philippe's tie. A dark burgundy would have been the cherry on the cake.

I think King Phillippe likes this tie. It is not the first time I see him wear this tie with this suit. I do not see the match you propose why dark burgundy, to match Maxima's dress ?

Love the colours on the ladies, but I think they are both waayyy over-dressed for the occasion! "Tackling the issue of youth unemployment" over lunch ... come on ... it is actually a major, on-going problem for many, and not something these people in silk, diamonds and ladies in high heels "tackle over lunch". It sounds almost offensive to those who face a bleak future in the world of employment. - Ellie

@Ellie Since the Mayor of the city of Antwerp was there and the Governor of the province of Antwerp was there too and since there are a lot problems with unemployment among the immigrants it is quite possible that it was proposed (by whom I don't know) to discuss and compare it with the Netherlands. Too many people see this state visit as a fashion/diamonds show which it isn't. You forget that on many levels Belgium and The Netherlands are working together. Why not on the problem of youth unemployment. You also forget that the Dutch King and Queen came not alone to Belgium but with a whole delegation among which ministers and other people. On the other hand I saw a minister of the Flemish government on these pictures. There are probably more ministers (Federal and Flemish) which can not be seen on these photo's. You can compare it with an economic mission to other countries. All business men and women that took part in such a mission say the same: the fact that a royal lead the delegation is always a benefit to them and which almost enable them to sign new business contracts in the country they are visiting.

Queen Maxima in another stunningly lovely outfit and fabulous hat. What a week it’s been. I like the colour combo for Queen Mathilde but the coat hangs strangely, I feel. It’s like the cut of an academic gown. A joy to see these two together for the last few days

  17. The Royal ladies look superb. Queen Maxima looks stunning, a beautiful outfit, love her dress and hat. The design of this dress is wonderful, I love the top part of her dress, interesting feature. The accessories looked perfect, love the addition of her brooch, nice.
Queen Mathilde looks equally beautiful, this is a very pretty ensemble, I like it very much and suits her well. Her accessories and hat look splendid.

Splendid, splendid in every way except for the Natan shoes they are both wearing. It's unbelievable that they can walk on them so long cause, as I have them myself, the plastic details of the shoe cut into the skin of your foot. They are so uncomfortable

Both Queens look lovely--Mathilde's outfit took me a few looks to make my decision though (its probably because I don't like orange). One thing I really don't like are the shoes with the plastic inserts--awful!!! Just get a pair (which I bet both ladies own) heels without them.

  22. Fashion wise, they are my least favorite royals. They need to work on their posture. Maxima is always over the top and Mathilde is not far behind. Those hats...

It's clear to all of us that you dislike everything which has to do with Queen Maxima, but that also Queen Mathilda's not your cup of tea comes as a surprise ... makes me wonder who your 'favourites' are ...

They both got the note: We will wear our 'stripper' shoes today. Really dislike clear plastic bits in shoes, makes them look so tacky and cheap.
