That is King Abdullah's mother, Princess Muna., 82yo. She is British by birth, original name Antoinette Gardner, and was King Hussein's second wife.

Absolutely stunning look for Rania--green is great on her and the belt is gorgeous. She is such a beautiful woman. Salma's dress is lovely too. I love how the bodice eflects her father's and brothers' traditional kufiyahs (I think that is the correct term--if not, someone please correct me and give me the correct name). I wish we could see more of Muna's gown--it looks like it has incredible designs.

It's been a very busy week for Queen Rania and the Jordanian Royal family. Started with Rania hosting the enormous henna party for DIL-to-be Rajwa al Saif, then her youngest son Hamzah's HS graduation yesterday, then the Independence Day celebrations today, and the current and ongoing preparations for the big wedding in a week.
Still she holds her composure and looks amazing in this green and gold kaftan ensemble. Not overdone - just right.

Rania and the whole family looks great. I love them when they wear more traditional clothes. This is really a great time of celebrations for the Royal family of Jordan. And they make celebrating look good.

I can’t pinpoint it but I find that this queen dresses in a tacky way. I know most people don’t agree.

    1. Well, King Abdullah has been seen wearing agal and kufiyya in the past. My guess would be that this is a highly stately affair and therefore he chose to do it the more statemanly way. The sons, however, are not (yet) representing the Jordanian State on that political/diplomatic level, and therefore dressed more in a traditional Arabic way. Only guessing, of course.

I agree. She looks like a queen. What an amazing green kaftan with the golden belt. She is so flawless when it comes to dressing, Although I think these days more and more that it is not nice when the mother looks better than the daughter. Growing gracefully old appeals to me more and more.

At 52yo, Queen Rania still has at least 20 more years left in her of looking young and stylish and beautiful, before she need worry about 'aging gracefully'.
