On May 30, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia hosted a diplomatic reception for ambassadors from Guatemala, Sri Lanka, Italy, the Czech Republic and Saudi Arabia. Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel also took part in diplomatic reception. A few times a year, newly-appointed ambassadors and their spouses are given the opportunity to meet The King and Queen during a reception at the Royal Palace.

Nice dress on CP Victoria, but not a fan of the ruffles. Well, it is not I am wearing it. I also think the Queens suit today is a bit boring, all the same color. OMO. css

I love this dress - asymmetric ruffles and all - though it looks a little snug on Victoria compared to how it looks on the model. Still OK though.

I love the dusty rosé colors of Victoria’s dress with her complexion.

Silvia looks so elegant in her suit. Victoria looks marvelous in her pink floral dress. I can't believe that I like this dress with the double row of ruffles but I do--it creates a fresh, summery look and the colors are pretty on Victoria. The dress has a definite 30-40s vibe which I also like.

I agree. I’m normally not a fan of ruffles but they’re somewhat hidden by the printed fabric, plus, they’re well away from CPV’s face. (V.M.)

@Vanessa. The length of the dress on the model and on CP Victoria are practically the same.

    2. The length of the dress might be the same, but Victoria isn´t as long-legged, so the hem is much lower on her. Proportion-wise, it´s not as balanced as on the model.

  6. Queen Silvia looks beautiful. I love her suit, the color is gorgeous. The pussy bow silk blouse is splendid. Looks very feminine, love the soft pastel color. The color of her shoes, perfect. CP Victoria looks nice, but I dont like the ruffles down the front of her dress. Regardless she looks lovely.

Queen Silvia is so elegant in this lovely suit. I also like CP Victoria’s dress though it’s on the fussy side with the pattern as well as the ruffles

I donat like this dress, not the pattern and not the ruffles. The two flowers on the top are like grabbing hands.

This a pretty dress worn very well by Victoria. She looks lovely. I also like Queen Sylvia's suit and blouse. The pink color of the two outfits is very nice.
