Queen Rania of Jordan held a traditional henna celebration and a dinner on the evening of Monday 22 May at the Royal Hashemite Court’s Madareb Bani Hashem ahead of her son Crown Prince Al Hussein's wedding. Crown Prince Al Hussein and Saudi Arabian Rajwa Al-Saif will get married on June 1 at Zahran Palace in Amman.
The guests present at the celebration were princesses, including Princess Iman and Princess Salma, other members of the royal family, members of the Al-Saif family and women from across Jordan. Rajwa wore a white and gold dress by Saudi designer Honayda Serafi.
All these stunning women are wearing exquisite clothes. The bride looks fantastic and really happy. The white dress is an extraordinary example of craftmanship. It's a joy to see these pictures. I'm looking forward to the wedding.

حذفI find there dresses fascinatiing and beautiful. Queen Ranis is beautiful and that blue dress breathtaking but it feels like she is competing with her future daughter in law. Sometimes you have to stand back and let the youth shine. The young future bride is an exceptional and natural beauty. I find her fascinating and I think we will see a lot more of her.
ردحذفThis was Rania's event for her future daughter-in-law. She was the hostess for over 200 women present and being that, as well as being the current Queen, her blue dress was appropriate. The event was extremely lavish and opulent..the amazing setting, the entertainment, the musicians, bands, singers and dancers all serenading the soon-to-be bride, the beautiful outdoor henna lounge area and then the transition next door to the splendid outdoor dinner setting with candles and tons of flowers and dried grasses. It's all online to see. Her DIL is stunning and I don't think Rania has any aspirations to compete with her. Why would she? She is an attractive woman in her own right and is also simply the hostess with the mostess (class, character and of course, the mean$ at her disposal.)

حذفTo be fair I think that's also Arab culture. In the West we tend to say the bride should be the only one dressed particularly extravagantly, whereas Arab weddings seem to have everyone dressed absolutely to the nines (and remember Rajwa in bright yellow at Iman's wedding, whereas in the West you'd normally go more muted). I love it to be honest, the focus is obviously still on the bride but everyone is look extraordinary too!
حذفRania looks lovely, but the star is definitely the bride-to-be...as it should be on her henna day. Her outfit is very, very beautiful, with the embroidered and appliqué'd silk chiffon overcoat, with delicate head covering and train. All the ladies present look very attractive and well dressed, and from all social levels.

حذفI agree with those who find the dress of the bride exquisite. In my opinion the gown of Queen Rania is too elaborate and does compete with that of her daughter, especially when they are side by side, and I wonder why this was necessary. Sounds silly but somehow I am disappointed.

حذفHave you seen the outfits of many of the other guests in attendance? Go online and take a look since they are not shown in these photos. They make Rania's dress look drab in comparison. This is an event for women to celebrate each other while welcoming a new bride, and to have fun and wear their very best. As the hostess of this huge evening event, Rania is dressed smartly and with just the correct understated amount of dazzle.
