Crown Princess Victoria, Princess Estelle, Prince Oscar, Prince Carl Philip, Princess Sofia, Prince Alexander and Prince Gabriel watched the new performance "Where is the sandwich?" (Var är smörgåsen?) at the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm. This brand new opera for preschool children is yet another collaborative effort by the popular children’s book author Pija Lindenbaum and composer Niklas Brommare.

Irene, you don't like their hair so they should cut it to please you?! In the northern countries we have the right to decide our hair length by ourselves, even in the royal families. Only in the army one can't have long hair. The police, priests etc. can have long hair. We are far more relaxed people than f.ex. the English and that's a good thing for the mental health.

حذفWhat a shame that good looking Prince Alexander still has this unusual long hair. Prince Gabriel’s a lovely looking little boy and Princess Estelle is a star. I don’t like Prince Oscar’s long fringe either. It’s not an improvement on his usual appearance.

حذفIt's just hair, maybe he likes it. My youngest son had long hair and my mum was always on about cutting it. A must admit I didn't think it was a big deal and he liked it long. He finally decided to cut it around nine. Jj

حذفAnon 18.40 - the English are far more relaxed than you give them credit for - we are also a pretty northern country. Boys can and do have long hair here if they so wish.

ردحذفEstelle looks age appropriate and lovely, as does her Mum CP Victoria. Oscar and Sophia's boys need a good hair cut, but are very cute.
ردحذفI have to admit..I didn't recognise Prince Oskar at first! He looks so cute with his new haircut! It changes his look completely. Estelle looks lovely too as she is growing up.

It is the custom in the Scandinavian countries that boys let grow their hair sometimes. Especially among kids of nobility.

ردحذفCute kids! It's great that they let their children wear their hair as the children themselves like, even though Oscar's new haircut looks a bit impractical for his eyesight... :-) Managing a boy's long hair probably isn't any harder than a girl's.

Kind of funny how Oscars hair is the opposite of his fathers.
