On the last day of their state visit to Slovakia, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima visited the region at the foot of the Tatra Mountains in northeastern Slovakia together with President Zuzana Caputova. In the town of Poprad the king and Queen visited a centre for Ukrainian refugees. Slovakia borders Ukraine in the east; since the start of the war over one million Ukrainians have crossed the border.

Afterwards, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima visited the historical Spisska Sobota district of Poprad, a testament to the cultural heritage of Slovakia and of the Carpathian Germans, a recognised minority in the country. The state visit ended at Tatra National Park.

Seems a slightly impractical outfit for visiting children and a walk in the country km

I guess when making a Royal tour, when the person's job is only to be seen, then the 'practicality' of her clothing is not so important as its appearance. Far more hilarious and stupid than this, are the extreme high-heels that HM Queen Maxima (and other Royalty) wears on most public engagements. 😂 Walking anywhere in these stupid shoes is difficult, even dangerous, and HM's uncertainty with stairs is always obvious. But they are worn for their appearance only, just as no woman would wear this outfit for visiting a pre-school.

The coat is very nice. Hard to see what the Nathan ensemble looks like on her but it looks nice on the model (very thin) despite it being so voluminous. Her handbag looks like an evening purse. I would have liked something more substantial.

Maxima has a friendly attitude in most appearances, which I do like. Something that would so improve her look is to stop using the harsh bronze blusher on her cheeks. She has a nice face and does not need overdone makeup! It’s garish and actually makes her look older. Her outfit has a lot of volume. Wider leg trousers are in style, but that doesn’t mean she has to wear them. They make her look larger than she is.

Yes! That dark bronzer is so aging and makes her otherwise lovely face look harsh. MR

Yes, her makeup is far too heavy and her wide leg trousers are not attractive on her or anyone really.

Hate Maxima's gloves, but like the overall look! I think for the current temperatures, this is a good example of style AND comfort. I prefer a bit of colour, especially when there are outdoor activities (taking a page out of the late Queen Elizabeth's book of always being visible for the people), but that doesn't make it a bad outfit of course. Maxima's hair is nicely done, I just wish she'd ditch the heavy blush/bronzer.

I prefer the short version of the coat with the wide trousers like the model is wearing

The coat, color, hairstyle and earrings are great! Wide leg pants are in fashion and they can look great, but not with long coats. If the coat was shorter, the outfit proportions would work much better. Kate wears the same style and it drags down the whole look with all the fabric heaviness at the ground.

Maxima ‘s combination looks elegant, although not a practical colour for this visit.
Her hair is really beautifull, but the ear things are far too much.
This is a visit to children and refugees!
Try to dress a bit modest please!
    The king looks downright shabby.

I love the kind of off- white colour of this ensemble. Everything would be perfect if the whole would not be oversized. Esp. for elegant older women like Máxima. Look at these enormous trousers. What is the "pointe" of this new oversized fashion look.

    1. I haven't yet been able to sort out what I like or not. For sure I don't like the bronze makeup. I have nothing against the gloves. I like the hair style, don't like the face expression on pic3. For the rest yes to the white off color, and the oversized is not good on her.

At first glance I liked Maxima's coat but not with those wide pants. It makes her shape invisible and gives oversized impression, although she's in good shape. Her hair have been very beautifully styled during the whole visit.
