I don't like her bustier-top. Not appropriate for a woman of her social standing and age! But she likes that kind of tops.

    1. Well, that is not a good thought of those women because trousers and tops make you look more like older woman more compact and bigger. If you wear a youthfull dress with appropriate styling our body looks much younger and you can conceal your older body if you do not like to show it. This actually counts also for younger women who are larger (example: princess Amalia she looks much better in dresses than with matronly trousers and blouse or top).

  3. Oh dear the Grand Duchess forgot to put her blouse on and it looks like she forgot her trousers as well. She appears to have only her strapless bra and her long thermo-knickers on.

Apparently Maria Teresa had to once again be told by the PM of Luxembourg not to bully her staff. During her daughter's engagement photo shoot, she too wanted to try on clothes and threw a fit because the wardrobe staff was busy with Alexandra's clothes and did not bring out Maria Teresa's oufits fast enough.

It's not just royal gossip and artificial drama when there is an official report on her bullying behaviour - it is not just alleged but an official investigation has found that she bullied her staff.
The Prime Minister has had to repeatedly tell her to treat people with respect - that is not a rumour but a fact. Can you imagine the Prime Minister having to tell Queen Mathilde or Queen Silvia to behave themselves? No, because that would never happen.
If her husband has to abdicate it will be because of her behaviour.
She rarely even bothers to attend regular royal engagements. Her husband attends most of them alone, yet here she is handing out an award to the one royal reporter who writes puff pieces on her lol.

  13. Nothing really matches here. The bustier-style top is quite horrible on her, and it has nothing to do with age. It simply doesn't suit her body-type. All those pieces thrown together make for a very peculiar look.

When Maria Teresa married into the grand-ducal family she was a pretty young woman, nice and seemingly modest . But Henri's family was against this marriage, especially Grand Duchess Josephine Charlotte. Well, one can understand this. In those days, an aristocratic background was far more important when one married into a royal family. Josephine Charlotte herself came from the Royal Belgian Family and she had lost her mother, a princess of the Royal Swedish House, at a young age. So it was difficult for her to accept this marriage. My impression is that M.T. has become more bossy over the years - and she was severely criticised in a government report on the administration of the Luxembourg grand-ducal court. There were practically no structures in place and she was the boss - some of her stuff strongly complained about her behaviour towards them.
I also remember that her luxurious life-style was criticised.

Oh my! I like the jacket--its a lovely evening jacket. I can't really comment on the trousers because the photos do not show a full length picture. But the bustier...I am sorry to say that it is not flattering. I feel like a bustier is something seen on the red carpet or on much younger women. I don't like to judge based on age or position but MT is a lady in a position where clothes are part of the job and certainly part of such a person's position. So, I have to say the bustier is wrong choice.

Dear Ana, I don't think there's anything odd about those comments. Nobody needs to degrade Maria Teresa, she manages that feat quite nicely on her own. Her treatment of staff is unacceptable, this is not the 19th century where it might have been common. The Prime Minister had to step in several times because of her behaviour, wouldn't you call that embarrassing? If her husband loves and respects her like you assume, he needs to do something about the situation. Otherwise it reflects badly on him. It makes one wonder how she treats her family.
Regarding her fashion choice, the old adage "Mutton dressed as lamb" comes to mind.

  25. Women in all ages have every right to wear what they like. Women judging other women for their clothes is only pathetic and in this case also hypocritical and very sexist, not from this millenium. At least not in my cultur and country. I don't see anything wrong with her top. And it's not revealing too much, very appropriate. She has great skin and the top suits her very good. Her jacket is also great, can't say anything about the trousers because I don't see enough of them.

    Dear Anonymous,
since you cherish your- and I hope other people's- opinions, let me have a say on this bustier.
You know, Anonymous, I hope there will come a time when you come to terms to yourself and find peace, without always throwing this huge amount of negativity on royal ladies.
I mean that you blame P. Kate for being tall , boring and tired, Q.Letizia for looking short if compared to her tall husband, M.Teresa for being ...daring, edgy and only God knows what else at her "old" age, P. Mary for looking photoshopped...have I missed anyone or anything?
Oh, I overlook your posts related to Amalia and her figure.
Can I ask you what a woman must be like to be praised by you?
Got news for you, bustiers are used as pieces of clothing by very normal women or commoners, not only when they want to be "hot" like Pierre Casiraghi was in your eyes.
I sometimes wear bustiers myself under blazers.
DSC is right, the problem with this bustier is that it does not suit Maria Teresa irrispective of her age or position.
As someone else said, why do you try that hard to let M.Teresa down producing your biased comments over and over?
Ok, you do not like her, just say it once and call it quits, won' t you?
Same applies to Kate's earrings worn on her visit to a nursing home in Slough.
Hope I have been kind and friendly enough.
    Cheerio.

And ,dear Anonymous, I want to add that old age is not only something which may affect one's body.
You seem to put all women on the same level.
I know women in their seventies who still look appealing and can compete with much younger women like me.
It all depends on how much one takes care of herself and genes are determining too.
I think that even someone in her thirties or younger may look old if she neglects her body and, above all, if she has a musty mindset.
Old age is more in one's narrow-minded biased views than in one's body.
Neither beauty products nor surgery can ameliorate a mentally born old woman.

They were super kind at the door and let me in😁
I’ve noted on many occasions, even when attending weddings, the Grand Duchess likes to go just to the limit with her neckline.
Either deep V or heavily cut out.
    What is the objective ?? I don’t know.😏
Did she get the bustier idea from Madonna?
Looking back at some old photos of her over the last 10 years, IMO she looks better in dark coloured pants and top rather than in a skirt.
Bearing in mind that it was not an official royal occasion, I guess she had some leeway to be a bit edgy with her outfit.

  30. @ Pauline, you seem a little obsessed with the bustier, I a counting 8 different comments from you about it, peppered with your personal views about her character. I personally can't find anything inappropriate with it, other that I don't like it myself. She isn't showing any extra skin that many other royals would on an evening/ sort of formal event, and that is a fact.
I can't or wouldn't comment about the issues she may have had with her staff, mainly because I don't have that information and secondly because it's not my place to show up at a fashion blog and start judging her.

  31. I don't mind bustiers at all, worn by someone that suits them, they look fabulous. Blazers and jackets are a great way of combining an outfit such as this. Problem here for me, is it simply does not suit Maria Teresa at all. The jacket/blazer itself looks fabulous. I'm not sure about the pants, photo's do not give me a good enough view. Her makeup looks wonderful. The light streaks/tips in her hair look splendid.

Calling people names in order to demean them is nothing but bullying. how would you feel if somebody treated your daughter, sister, mother or friend the same way.
