On January 8, 2023, King Carl Gustaf and Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden attended the annual conference of Society and Defence (Folk och Försvar - Rikskonferensen) held in Salen. The conference focuses on security of the world, Sweden's defence, and emergency preparations of the society. Folk och Försvar’s Annual National conference takes place annually in January at a major winter resort in Sweden.

It must be bitterly cold. Both royal ladies look lovely.
ReplyDeleteActually it doesn’t look that cold to a northern eye. I guess the temperatures were around or even slightly above the freezing point, no colder than that. For a Scandinavian, a bitterly cold weather would be nearer to -20 degrees Celsius. Still, sometimes the temperatueres around the freezing point may feel colder and ”raw” because of the moisture in the air. At -20 degrees the air is mostly dry and the effect is milder. Still, whatever the temperature, they were appropriately dressed. 🙂

I think the queen looks adorable in her fur trimmed boots and her winter gear. She is such a lovely lady, and so is Victoria, but I liked her outfit better before she switched from black pants to the checked pants.
ReplyDeleteThis By Malina double row pantsuit looks horrible. Its just hanging on her. No shape, no style, kind of masculine, nothing flattering about the outfit. Grey turtleneck isn't helping either.
ReplyDeleteQueen Silvia's coat must be really old by now. I remember her wearing it forever. Her black suit looks better but not fan of shiny blouse.
The King looks the best.

DeleteMy policy is, if you've got the money, go for top quality, slow fashion design and a dark colour. You've got the guarantee of being warm and snug at a minute's notice.

DeleteCP Viktoria should have kept the back pants on and left the other ones home. I don't like the jacket either but at least there is room for more than one warm sweater under it. The Queen looks lovely in her fur coat and winter boots.
