Queen Margrethe has strong links to St Katharine's Church and her parents King Frederik and Queen Ingrid attended its inauguration in Regent's Park. Queen Margrethe last visited the church in 2019 while making her designs for the chasuble by taking inspiration from the building's mosaic glass and colours related to the Danish and British flags.

Queen Margrethe wore her Order of the Garter, which she received during her UK state visit in 1979. The Garter is an order of chivalry founded by Edward III of England in 1348.

The Queen wears The Order of the Garter as a broche.

    4. Dear Tulipe33.
It is a bit difficult to explain and you may get a headache trying to do so. .
I vaguely understand it as a recognition by the King or Queen of the exemplified behavior of another person. Try the below link for the history and reason for the title.
It’s in English but you should be able to ‘click’ and have it translated into French.
I’d advise you to have a Doliprane or two available for when the headache arrives.

p.s. “Doliprane” is the trademark of a French anti-pain medication.

    5. That is not the actual Order of the Garter. It isn’t worn as a brooch. Yes this looks similar to the Garter star but in actuality is a brooch that has a similar looking cross in the middle.

Very nice ( colour) combination. She shows that flat heels can be elegant too.

Oh, I like this very much. The two reds go very well together and look appropriately festive. This hat shape suits Margrethe nicely.

  4. Very smart, simple ensemble with a “Christmassy” touch to it.
    Nice coordination with the hat.
Red seems to be the favoured colour with the Danish royal ladies at the moment.
I’ve read that a lot of the Royal family will be away this year for Christmas and that the Queen will be sharing the celebrations with Princess Benedikte and friends at the Marselisborg Palace.

Yes--have read the same info about the holidays for the Danish royals. The CP family will be in Australia--its been around 5 yrs since Mary has had an Xmas with her family so that's understandable. Apparently, Joachim and his family planned to spend Xmas elsewhere too. But its so nice that the sisters will enjoy the holiday together and that friends can join them.

Queen Margrethe always looks great in red and this is no exception. Her hat is also very flattering

Call in a stylist! I have seen this outfit so many times along with the mint , the peach and the royal blue ensembles she wears with the matching hat and none of them have texture to them. I would love to see the Queen in a fabulous textured Chanel type suit similar to the ones Queen Sylvia wears. I know it is practical to re-wear outfits but she has worn these out. Time for a stylist!. You can only re-wear a outfit so many times!
