The pattern of the skirt gives me a headache. So instead of looking at the skirt I look at her hair. Incredibly shiny and beautiful. I wonder what her secret is.....

I think her secret is a very clean and fresh hairdressing .

She applies that same shiny lotion to her shoulders, arms and hair! That's the secret!

  3. Hmmm....wonder what the designer's inspiration was for this skirt, and why it appeals to Queen Letizia?

The writer in 'Hola' gave more detail about the designer and the inspiration. The collection was sold about a year ago so the skirt is no longer available.

  4. Joli modèle mais à mon avis, avec quelques centimètres en moins, ce serait parfait ; magnifiques cheveux délicatement lissés et brillants !

Inappropriate for a hole that high up on the thigh of a Queen, and not even going to discuss the pattern, gave me a headache. Anne

The skirt in itself is nice, but what and why this hole? makes no sense. Maybe when the pleats were ironed in someone burnt it??? haha css

This looked so promising at first, as you can't really go wrong with black and white. But this hole is a no go. I'd rather she'd wear a mini skirt if she wants to show off her legs than this oddly placed and completely nonsensical hole. It looks like a candle fell and burnt a hole into the fabric... And I also remember how people cut out the Soviet hammer and sickle emblem from their national flags in countries like Hungary during revolutions. So unless this is some political statement, I hope she burns the skirt and never thinks about it again.

  15. The skirt itself I like, it has plenty of swish and movement, the pattern I don't like or the hole in the skirt. I realize things like this maybe fashionable, just like rips and holes in jeans, but I don't like them either LOL! but I don't dress for modern, more elegance and stylish appearance, discounting these fads. The black top and her black shoes look good.

Well, ripped jeans are popular, so let's put a big hole on the side of a skirt. *Regina

Observers of the Queen's style should have realized by now that for these events that celebrate creative people, she always adds a some sort of stylistic flair to her outfit. The skirt offers a lot of volume and movement, QL's classic personal styling of fit and flare dresses or separates. The hole is just a designer's quirk. Imagine it covered with a patch of a vibrant color, and that creates a different look for other accessories to be added.
Today, a lesser known designer could see her name and inspiration put on the world stage. No doubt traffic to her website has increased.
*Well chosen pictures of the artists in conversation with QL.

What's been going on with her lately? Is she going through some kind of midlife crisis? First the pink dress with her stomach showing, the backless dress that was not flattering at all, and now this. Why is she showing so much skin lately. Yes, she clearly exercises and works very hard for hard for the body she has, but she doesn't have to keep putting it on display like this. It's just odd.

According to the models picture, you are to stick your leg through the hole. That would look tacky on anyone. But on a royal lady, that would be beyond tacky.

  23. Anonymous3/11/22 05:02

I believe the skirt can be work with one leg put through the hole, as shown on the model in the 2 photos on the right. QL is not wearing it that way, and I agree with everyone here that the gaping hole makes the skirt and the wearer look ridiculous. S.M.

    1. After reading your comment I had to look at the photos again. I clearly didn´t see the full extent of the problem as I thought the model photos showed an additional slit in the skirt that I thought at least Letizia got rid of. I didn´t get that the leg was put through the hole, but you´re absolutely right. What a terrible design. With the leg stuck through, surely the skirt will get pulled as you walk.

I saw the skirt elsewhere and had to come see the comments here. I knew it will be a field day!
The skirt is definitely yikes, not gonna lie, but Letizia improved it from the original version IMO. A slit and a hole? That would have been disaster. Letizia's version is still decent and knowing her, she might re-purpose it later ad wear it in another way.

As most of you I do not like the hole in the skirt. I understand that it’s intended as a quirky touch to a very ordinary skirt, and it doesn’t work, it looks silly, however I don’t understand the outrage of some comments here, she is just showing a patch of skin, and I don’t think is intended to show that she has a very toned body, which she does. Even the most stylish royals make bad fashion choices, no need to be alarmed.

Well, I just wonder why all this mess about a deviation in Letizia's usual good taste.
There is no hole- gate here, it is just a miss from the Queen.
The rest of her outfit is nice.
