  1. Wow the Princess of Wales looks stunning in this white dress, the detail in the shoulders doesn't overshadow the jewelry and I wish we can see the back of her dress.

Daily Mail has a pic of Sophie and Edward in which Catherine is reflected in the mirror. The back of her gown is filled in up to her neck, and the crystals continue across the back. Gorgeous!!

  2. What great look for everyone. Kates Gown is breathtaking. Q Camilla looks stunning in this royal blue. I like her Tiara, something different for a change. Hope we will see QEII jewelry be worn by Camilla, maybe others received some of them as well. css

  3. All three royal ladies look lovely.
Catherine looks exquisite in her gown and it fits her really well. I love the back of it. From the front however, it looks similar to so many gowns worn by other royal ladies in the past such as Letizia and Maxima, with the long cape sleeves.
Both the Queen consort and Sophie look very good and well fitted in their gowns. However, their two gowns are way less razzle-dazzle than Catherines, which to me then makes Catherine's look a little in excess for this particular state banquet, stunning as it is. Wish we could see photos of what other female guests are wearing.

    1. To anon 01: 46 Neither Maxima nor Laetizia have a monopoly on long coat sleeves. Such clothes were worn long ago. In addition, Kate has not only a perfect dress, but imakeup and especially a hairstyle (this surpasses them - my opinion) Daniela

  4. The ladies & gents all look so fabolous and it is with proud that I can say, I have never thought that SA would be the first country to be hosted by the new King. Even our president, Mr CR looks quit dashing..... (from a proudly South African)

  5. Everyone looks absolutely beautiful. Very nice outfits and jewellery. Even the gents looks great but the winner for me is the very handsome Maj. Johnny Thompson. Wish we could see more photos of him....

  7. What a breathtaking look. Kate is just a vision. That regal dress matched with the perfect tiara and jewels…

  8. Absolutely gorgeous from all 3 ladies!!! Queen Camilla looks fabulous in that blue gown with the sapphires--and her amazing tiara hair does wondrous things for that tiara. The Princess of Wales looks stunning in that dramatic white gown--the bejeweled neck and shoulders are so elegant. The Countess of Wessex looks beautiful in her simple teal gown--the simple part is good because it allows her necklace to really stand out. Her necklace looks like a fringe tiara off its frame (can't wait to learn more about the jewelry!!!). She is also wearing some pretty fabulous looking earrings. Looks like the ladies of the BRF might play a bit more in the jewel vault now--fingers crossed!

  9. Generally don’t love Camilla style, but she looks very good tonight, fabulous color, and the dress is tailored perfectly for her figure. I love Catherine’s dress, she is a vision in white and the embellishments are breathtaking, but somehow the hair and tiara ages her, I would love to see a picture of the back of the dress, I am curious as to whether she wore the dress as is, or altered the back. I have memories of Queen Letizia wearing a similar cut and being heavily criticized a few weeks ago .

  10. Wow, wonderful all around. Kate looks stunning, Sophie lovely, Camilla regal. In Camilla´s case, the tailoring could be better (this turned out a bit shapeless) but I still like the approach.

  11. Camilla could do better, Sophie: modest good dress, but Catherine really beautifull!
The shoulders are wonderfully padded and embroidered.
    Also like her soft make-up,

    1. Well, when you think that an evening gown for the Princess of Wales on the occasion of a gala state banquet costing approx. 6,000 Dollars is way over the top, then what do you think about a drab looking Dior gown costing 100,000 Dollars for a less grander evening reception for the Duchess of Sussex?

  13. Yes the royal ladies look lovely. I would however think Princess Catherine's dress would be more appropriate for a more mature lady. She could enjoy some more years wearing younger looking designs.

  14. The Queen Consort looks lovely in this shade of blue, pretty gown. The sapphire and diamond tiara, necklace and bracelet look wonderful. The Princess of Wales, looks stunning, just exquisite. The gown is befitting. The embellishments are beautifully incorporated. The diamond and pearl earrings really look wonderful especially with these embellishments. The pearl bracelet is gorgeous. Love the small evening clutch. Her hair looks splendid. Love her makeup, its perfectly done. Countess Sophie looks lovely, her jewels look beautiful. As does her gown.

  16. Camilla's dress suits her well and colour is nice on her. Sophie's dress is a good color, but the design may not be the best possible for her body type. Loose sleeves makes her look wider than she is.
Catherine's dress fits perfectly and the sleeves are beautiful, but it would look more elegant without the shoulder embellishments. It gives a bit armor-like vibes. At least a slightly more restrained version would be more stylish. The gap in the back is too much (if it is threre). -Siri

    1. I agree. I also think it is a bad idea to mix the diamonds and pears of the tiara with that awful paste on the shoulders and neck. I wish the shoulder padding could be less square.

  17. Everybody looks fantastic! I love that Camilla is branching out on the tiaras now - it's interesting how large the sapphires look on her, she can really pull off the "big guns". The royal blue is also well chosen. Catherine looks impeccable. The gown is stunning and she carries it with such grace. Sophie also looks wonderful, the dark teal is a good colour for her and her jewellery is exquisite. Does anybody know about the necklace she's wearing? It almost looks a bit like a convertible tiara, don't you think?

The only minor thing I don't like is the yellow house order. I wish there was a pin or brooch or something smaller for the ladies to wear. Obviously it's a lovely tribute to the late Queen to also still carry her likeness with them, but the yellow fabric is so big and clashes awfully with most of the dress designs...

    1. Actually, Sophie's tiara is necklace convertible into tiara, it is Wessex Aquamarine necklace.
I really like Royal Family Orders, they have some unique regalness about them and the fact that they are worn forever is what monarchy is all about, continuity.

    2. It is correct that the tiara that the Countess of Wessex wore can be converted into a necklace. However, the question was if the necklace she was wearing could be made into a tiara. The answer to that question is - we do not know for sure. That piece of jewellery has only been worn as a necklace, mainly by the late Queen. It is called - in lack of any official description - the Modern Fringe Necklace and is a more recent addition to the vault, approximately two decades since its first appearance. It might be that an experienced jeweller can mount it onto a respective base and make it a tiara.

  18. Lovely evening, everyone looked stunning and I just love Charles in his new role, he is doing amazing job!
On occasions like this it is obvious how wrong H&M's decision was. It is telling that first State visit of the new reign is black African president. And yet someone thought it would be better to make money out of "racism".

  19. Kate's dress looks like a bejewelled nightie;the fabric is too sheer. I like the colour of Sophies dress. The sleeves on Camillas dress are interesting;and I do like her makeup her face seems a bit brighter. The Tiaras look good (Tabby)

  21. The Queen looks lovely in blue, but the Princess of Wales' white rhinestone dress is soooo 1980s! Remember Krystal Carrington in Dynesty! Sorry, but not my cup of tea. Leo

    1. I do not like the sparkles on Kate’s gown. They look very cheap and clash with the tiara. I’m also not sure about the white fabric. It does have a nighty kinda vibe. I like that color blue on the consort. The gown itself is okay, nothing special. Camilla’s tiara looks good on her and with that gown. Sophie Wessex’ dress is ho hum. The flouncy sleeves do not become her.

  23. The POW is wearing Wieen Mary’s Lovers’ Knot tiara, the Cambridge Lovers’ Knot tiara is a much older, German, tiara. Queen Mary liked it so much she had a copy made. The older tiara has pearls atop the knots whereas QM’s has diamonds (credit to The Court Jeweller for the info).

    1. Sorry! Queen Mary’s Lovers’ Knot. Horrible typo! The Princess of Wales looks utterly ravishing I think. And very strange to see The Queen’s jewellery on The Queen Consort. But good for them for bringing it out and moving life forward.

  24. Loved Catherine's gown and hairstyle. The back of the gown (visible in the mirror was just as beautiful. Sophie looks lovely as ever in her gown and royal jewels. Too bad Princess Anne was in the Falklands, missed seeing her, though it was nice to see the Duke of Kent. Anne

    1. Absolutely agree with you on the Duke of Kent. He is clearly cut of the same cloth as the late Queen had been. Duty and service to crown and country until their last breath. Despite his own health issues, he doesn't miss many opportunities to be present and support the sovereign. Loyal to the core.
