  2. I love love love Queen Silvia’s wonderful dress!!! The jacket, the belt, the skirt, the collar, the length of the sleeves… It’s a 10 for me! And as always, impeccable hairdo.

    1. Totally agree! It is a stunning WOW-dress and perfect styling of Queen Silvia's hair and make-up. She is really the best role model in her generation of all the royal families.

  4. No tiaras? Why? What a pity..

  5. Both ladies look amazing. The subtle colours, well combined and silk fabrics of Sonja terrific. The purple and modern swinging dress of Rania suits her fantastic, together with just one simple colourful brooch. How two ladies can look royal without a lot of jewelry.

  6. Queen Silvia looks marvellous! The jacket is very beautiful and I really like the way it has been cut and the fabric. Only she can wear such a blah colour and I love the oatmeal shade. Queen Rania looks nice but I am think the colour of the belt clashes with the dress.

  7. Whoaa, Silvia knocks it out of the park again. So elegant and graceful! This amount of beige and cream could easily wash a person out, but the queen is glowing! Rania looks equally nice, the rich colour and the flowy fabric look great on her. I don't fully understand the belt in this ensemble and I can only assume that there's a reason for the silver brooch/pin situation, but oh well...

  11. Qu'elles sont belles toutes les deux même si je préfère l'élégance de la reine Silvia dans des teintes très douces ; très bien coiffée avec de ravissantes boucles d'oreilles !

  12. I love the very simple lines of QSs dress, and the bow is just a fun twist. I usually like QRs gowns, but not this one, or is the tool long hair? I hope some can be put into words the reasons this gown is not a win for me

  14. Queen Silvia looks fabulous. The texture of the jacket is a great counterpoint to the smooth sheen of the skirt. Her earrings are beautiful. I don't have a good view of her necklace but I'm guessing it is composed of diamonds. Queen Rania's gown overpowers her and the purple seems harsh although that might the effect of the light. There seems to be a very nice connection between the beautiful queens.

    1. I believe there is a very sweet connection between the two Queens. Rania alluded to it on her instagram about 2 weeks ago when she and Sylvia attended some event together. Rania posted a photo arm-in-arm with Q. Sylvia and said (sic) "Here I am with my dear, dear friend Queen Sylvia of Sweden.." or similar words.

  15. Queen Silvia looks fantastic. The dress and jacket are incredibly flattering. Her hair looks beautiful I would love to know how it was achieved perhaps clip in pieces but whatever it is it looks very attractive. Queen Rania I feel it is just too much purple with gatherings of fabric everywhere. She is drowing in fabric and i also find that turqoise buckle or beading arrangement very distracting. On closer inspection I think if the sleeves had been simple and much less full it would have been a winner.

    1. I quite like Rania's gown; the color is beautiful. We've become accustomed to seeing European royal women in clothes that are too tight. Middle Eastern clothes in general are more modest, looser, & more flowy. One might say Hussein is also drowning in fabric. It's what they wear; I prefer that over clothes that are 1-2 sizes too small. *Regina

  16. Silvia looks so elegant. Champagne is a great color on her. I love the color of Tania’s gown. I like the sheer sleeves but think they should be narrowed. I don’t think the belt was the right choice for this gown.

  17. Queen Silvia's Champagne colored evening gown is splendid, beautiful design gown. The color is superb. Her earrings are gorgeous. Hair and makeup are perfect. Queen Rania's gown is lovely, stunning color, but I personally find the sleeves to much fabric, regardless she looks beautiful.

  19. Imagine that cream/caffelatte coloured gown of Queen Silvia paired with the fabulous Cameo Tiara! What a wowzer that could have been. I am somewhat disappointed in the latest development of dressing down for big state events, meaning no white tie, no wearing of orders/sashes, no phenomenal jewels on display, and, saddest of all, no tiaras. Only Queen Maxima occasionally lives up to the old standards. I'm anxious now to see what the South African state visit to the United Kingdom next week will bring.

  20. Both Queens look great. The purple of Queen Rania really stands out and suits her beautifully. (Royal purple for a royal Lady?)

  21. You know, I must be the only one who can find something to criticise about the evening gown worn by Queen Silvia.
It’s the skirt that bothers me. The same style of skirt and same colour with less volume, in my opinion, would put more balance to the ensemble.
As it is, it seems to be bottom heavy.
But then some of my neighbours in our street have labelled me as an “old stick in the mud”.
O.K. maybe I’m a bit of a stick in the mud but I wish they wouldn’t refer to me as “old”
    You know, words can hurt.
