On the evening of November 9, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of The Netherlands hosted a state banquet at the Royal Palace of Amsterdam in honor of the President of Italy, Sergio Mattarella and his daughter Laura Mattarella. Princess Beatrix and Princess Margriet were also present at the dinner. Italian President Sergio Mattarella is currently making a state visit to the Netherlands from November 9 to 11, 2022.
This is a beautiful dress of M, worn for the first time at an opening of the parliamentary year. The pearl necklace doesnot match with the “ golden” small balls on the dress, I think, otherwise, well done.

Oh dear! Oh dear! Max neither those pearls nor the tiara go with that dress. With the huge selection of jewels in the Dutch vaults I am sure you could have found a better match. Failing that you could have chosen another gown o go with the said tiara and pearls. Not only that but the hairstyle and tiara don't quite hit it off together as well.

ردحذفI really wanted to like this gown, but I just can’t, the color is drab, the embellishments excessive, and the pearls as beautiful as they are, don’t seem to be a good match. I do like the silhouette of the dress.

حذفTo start with the positive - the dress is divine on Maxima! And it lends itself beautifully to the green and red sash, very autumnal. But everything from the neck up is a bit "meh" - the pearls are overkill and don't really go with the already pretty ornate dress. The tiara is gorgeous, but wonky. I don't understand the hair - is it a side bun? A middle part? It looks put together in a hurry with the tiara carelessly plonked on top. I don't mind the strong makeup, it goes well with the dress, I just wish she would've ditched the pearls, so they don't distract from her face.
ردحذفMs Mattarella looks nice, but it's not my favourite look either. Maybe the different textures of the dress don't photograph well, but it all looks a bit cobbled together. I like the idea of the little capelet, though. Maybe some larger earrings would've created some added interest here.

This dress is a masterpiece and she managed to ruin it by wearing all the unnecessary jewelry. She looks like a pirate’s treasure chest.

This remark regarding jewellery is unqualified. The duty of a queen in Europe is to represent the Crown with dignity, i.e. the country, especially at official functions. Some of the jewellery probably belongs to the state and is not private. The jewellery might also have a historical background and is required wearing. Queen Elizabeth’s jewellery at state functions was therefore carefully chosen. Do your research before rubbishing Queen Maxima.

I am sure that the dress is really beautiful in real life. The pics don’t make it justice. If you zoom in the details it is incredible but from further away it just looks ok. I agree that the jewels are not a good match. The comment about “a pirates treasure chest” is hilarious and spot on.

Their diamond bandeau tiara would have been a wonderful choice to go with that dress and the fact that the other lady has no tiara to wear.

حذفMaxima a une magnifique silhouette dans cette robe mais avec le somptueux diadème qui semble lourd, je n'aurais porté qu'un collier de perles à deux rangs par exemple ; pour la fille du président italien qui est bien jolie, j'aurais voulu plus de clarté afin de voir tous les détails de sa robe et peut-être plus !
ردحذفThe dress is great craftmanship and is very well taylored. However from a distance the colour looks dull and doesn't do anything on QM. Agree with everyone that pearls and crown don't match with the gown. Princess Beatrix seems to have a nice lace blue top/dress? With the beautiful aquamarine crown. Unfortunately we cannot see the dress of Princess Margriet, which looks fine to me. The dress of the President's daughter seems a bit too complicated.
