Sarah, Duchess of York celebrates her 63rd birthday today

The Duke and Duchess of York have rehomed Sandy and Muick, the late Queen's beloved Corgis

Today is October 15 and the Duchess of York celebrates her 63rd birthday. The Duchess has shared photos of herself with the late Queen's two corgis on her Instagram in celebration of her 63rd birthday. The Duchess adopted the animals with her ex-husband Prince Andrew, Duke of York after the Queen's death last month and is now caring for the two dogs at their home at the Royal Lodge near Windsor Castle.

  1. Happy birthday to Sarah, however we would have been happier if the Queen's beloved corgis went to princess Anne or the Wales.

    1. Would be interested to know why. I’m sure the Yorks, jointly or separately, will take the greatest of care of these dogs. Given the much busier lives of the Princess Royal and the Waleses, I can’t see that they would be better.

    2. Why? They were a gift from the Yorks not Anne or the Wales family - who also aren't particular corgi fans.

    3. Why would we (whoever we is) be happier if the two corgis had of gone to Princess Anne or the Princess of Wales ???

    4. Are you using the "royal we" or referring to "we, the people of this blog"? If it is the latter, I am afraid you have misspoken for me. I happen to like that the York's have taken the dogs in. Sarah has had nothing but the kindest words for the Queen. It sounded like she considered it an honor.

  2. How many ex-spouses have their photos on this blog? I don't see Peter Philips wife, or Anne's x-husband, etc etc . Sadly, I'm of the notion this woman is trying to keep her foot in the door, when it closed on her a long time ago. Positive: The dog is lovely. Annie

    1. But she still lives with her ex.

    2. @Anon 16:37 Whether you're late to the party or just having a blurry moment, it is well known that she and Andrew are still an unofficial couple of sorts. They live together and have been for a long time. No one speaks of it and no one reports about it.

    3. @Anon 16:37 To answer your question, Princess Diana has been on this blog. She is not only an ex-wife, she is also deceased. She is going to remain relevant long after we are gone because she is the mother and grandmother to the next two kings, respectively.

Nice blazer and coordinating scarf in good fall colors for the Duchess. Sweet photos of her and the corgis.

  4. Dark green has always looked so good on Sarah. The corgis add the perfect fluffy-friendly note.

  5. Excuse me, if I see the Duchess of York, Happy Birthday by the way, I will allways think of Lady Diana, who would be her age and would be grandma.

  8. Magnifiques ces photos dans des couleurs automnales très douces ; je ne doute pas que les adorables corgis doivent être très entourés et calinés.
J'allais oublier de souhaiter un bon et joyeux anniversaire à Sarah !

  9. She looks good and so do the corgis. The Quen would have been happy to know her beloved dogs are so well cared for.

  10. Happy Birthday to the Duchess of York.
Agree with @Maguy that dark green has always looked good on the Duchess.
I think the corgis have found a superb foster mother.

  11. It's really weird knowing that Diana would be her age now - over sixty, five times a grandma. Anyway, all the best, Sarah, it can't have been easy being a non-royal in a royal family and later an ex-royal.

  12. Using dogs to get positive press, Sarah? There was no need to release a photo shoot. Many birthdays of hers have gone by without such an action. The dogs are cute but we are not fools.

    3. @23:22, just curious, how do you get along with your own self? Must be all glitter and magic! So sad to see people get behind a keyboard to spill their bitterness…

    4. @Annie, perhaps because the people you mention aren’t royal? Whether you approve of her or not, she is still the Duchess of York, I am sure that if Diana were alive today, she would also appear on these blogs. Just because you don’t seem to like her, it doesn’t change the facts.

Sad, that the meanspirited comments by some people just never seem stop.

    6. If Sarah cared one bit about what people thought, she would have left Andrew in the dust the moment his troubles became public. There is no need to start trouble where none exists.

    7. @anonymous 23:22, it’s amusing that you call other posters “bitter” as you are attacking them for opinions with which you disagree. You have displayed your own bitter intolerance to all. I’m laughing. Thank you. I do like the green color on Sarah.

  14. Sounds like the Sarah (Duchess of York) haters are back in town with their guns loaded. Good news is that it will give the Sussexes a bit of a break.

    2. @deadeggs. The best comment of today. Congratulations
Lucky the dogs cannot read all these negative comments. I think they are in good hands and really like the lady who takes care of them whoever she is. The dogs don't care as long as they receive their food and are taken care of.

  16. The photos are beautiful. Duchess ofYork is the winner she has 2 lovely corgis that belonged to Her Majesty Queen E lizabeth. Sarah looks good I particularly like the colours she is wearing. I had 2 corgis Bosley and Ringo sadly Bosley died; they are such clever and loyal little dogs (Tara)

  18. Why does she still have the title duchess of York, while divorced since a long long time ??

    ReplyDelete

    1. Why ??? Maybe for the same reason that Princess Anne has been divorced for a long time but has still got her title.
If all the royals who have been divorced for a long time lost their titles, you’d need a good size rubbish bin to put them into, the titles that is, not the royals.

    2. For the same reason why Diana kept her title Princess of Wales after her divorce from Charles. And Anne is not a very good example because she was born a princess. All they took away from Diana and Sarah was the right to be addressed as HRH (also they small word "The" Duchess of York, "The" Princess of Wales was taken from them). So, when married to the princes they were "HRH The Princess of Wales", "HRH The Duchess of York". After divorce they were Diana, Princess of Wales and Sarah, Duchess of York. Simple as that.

  19. Happy birthday to duchess Sarah of York! Such lovely photos of her with the dogs. I am sure that she is a very good foster mother for them. Love the colours of her outfit.
