I agree and the headband really doesn't look good either.

  3. The color and design pattern of the fabric I love. The bodice and top section suits the Queen well, but the skirt is too bulky IMO, regardless the Queen looks lovely.

Queen Mathilde is a very beautiful woman and I enjoy seeing her in her engagements. Frequently, however, she seems to wear clothes and hairstyles that age her. This particular ensemble is in line with her liking of prints; overall, I enjoy it, but the headpiece is ... odd. In general, the first couple of photos look like from the 1950s or 1960s, or like a costume of some kind. That said, I do respect her work and, at the end of the day, that's what matters.

Both the King and Queen are great representatives and seem to be full of grace and class. But my thoughts were the same when I saw the photos. The color/pattern of the dress is nice for autumn, but it feels like the cut comes across as vintage when paired with the headband, hairstyle and jacket styled over the shoulders.

@Anon. 21:38. Dresses and skirts from the 1950s are more in vogue in the UK. I agree we wore dresses like that in the 1960s. So what, everything is coming back. Some royals stick to their long dresses, other prefer to wear shorter dresses. If Queen Mathilde feels good in this style, she must wear this. Maybe she is not thin like other royal ladies but she is feminine and elegant and she is friendly to everyone.

I do like the dress but wish the skirt were more narrow. The version worn by the model would have been better. Not a fan of the headband at all--a hat would have been better. Overall, Queen Mathilde looks good.

Love this dress, she looks fantastic. I like the silhouette of the dress. Even though I personally don't care for jackets over the shoulder, I like the lighter one here.

When Queen Mathilde wears a hat it is not good now that she wears a headband (very popular in Britain) it is not good either. When her skirts are more narrow it is not good, now that her skirt is wider it is not good. If the name of the designer was not mentioned more people would have liked her outfit. Lucky her own people the Belgians like her in this dress.

    1. I like the dress, less the headband. The skirt too bulky ?? It is trendy, please allow her some extra, even if not perfect. Honestly I prefer some trendy and nice feature, than a totally classic, impersonal and timeless design, even it might fit her a bit better.

The nice colour suits Mathilde very well, but not so the model of the dress: the neckline and the wide skirt are both a bit childish.
I love the hairpiece though, and all in all ishe looks lovely.

Mathilde, as well as Maxima, often look as if they are in theatre costume, comedy type that is. The idea of Natan how a queen should look projected. The effect is ridiculous mostly, Not elegant, nor natural. Artificial typecasting with unflattering lines.

The Queen looks lovely. I like the dress, the colour and shape. This A-line style is very becoming to her body shape as well as is the distribution of pattern. I really love the headband. I find wearing hats an outdated custom. If you really want to wear some headgear it might as well be a beautifully done matching headband like this. Ladyofthemanor

Overall the Queen looks lovely, if this was 1950. The fabric is beautiful, the style fits her, but the overall look is dated and makes her appear older than she is. Break away from Natan and go with a designer that has a fresh look for a Queen in 2022.
