  2. I really like Empress Masako's flower dress. Amazingly, no brooch, no pearls ? The navy jacket could have done with a little embellishment. A light color suit is quite unusual for the Emperor, but looks very good on him. It is lovely and important to see Empress Masako out and about, I sometimes have doubts as to whether her health is improved or not.

I really like the blue/black dress and jacket that the Empress Masako is wearing. The fit and the length are very good and it seems more relaxed and modern than her other outfits. Her earrings coordinate so well with her outfit.

It is nice to see the Emperor in casual clothes. As usual he coordinates his colours with the Empress.

  5. Lovely couple! So nice to see them a bit more casual, the emperor in a shirt and the empress lovely summer dress. She looks so much younger and the earrings are pretty. Her arrival suite is beautifully crafted and he looks so cool (in both senses)

  6. I love Empress Masako's classic clothes, but her suit skirts would benefit from
a bit of tailoring to be taken in. The overall look would be much better.

  7. Empress Masako looks beautiful, especially hatless and in the blue print dress and navy blue jacket. Her earrings are a nice replication of the floral print of her dress. Emperor Naruhito's blue shirt is a good match to his wife's outfit. It's not often we seen them in casual attire. The blue textile in the last picture is a close match to the Empress's dress. A nice coincidence!

  8. As for Japan: I've read that Kei Komuro passed his exam so that Mako and he can stay in the USA, since he is allowed to work there. I am really happy for them!

    1. Yes Coralie. I read the same thing on another site.
Congratulations to Kei. Good news and nice to see them building their life in the US without the contractions of the Royal palace. Good for them.
I hope Mako’s sister, Princess Kako, doesn’t get put out on the street because of the decision she makes of her future husband, that is, of course, if she gets married.

  9. Isn’t it wonderful to see the Empress branch out into colour and pattern. Both outfits are lovely! I still hope to see her in another style of hat, but I guess that will have to wait. (V.M.)

  10. El sombrero no es lo peor, lo peor es el corte de la falda. Me parece de seƱora muy mayor.

  11. I love the casual blue themed dress and jacket, this looks lovely on the Empress. The Navy jacket is a good design, fit and the length is perfect.

  12. Okinawa is a prefecture far south in Japan. It takes almost 2 1/2 hours by air from Tokyo. It’s a very popular holiday destination with hot and humid weather. That’s why the Emperor Narohito and Empress Masako chose a more light and relaxed wardrobe this time. Beautiful and very humble!

  13. I found both outfits she wore lovely. His suit and matching tie was nice, however, the plain shirt he wore could have been ironed, it looks too casual and wrinkled for the occasion. Janey

  14. I love seeing Masako out and about! And it's interesting how clothes shape an appearance - they of course look both very appropriate in either of the outfits, but the second set just warms my heart. It's almost as if the casual clothes de-age them by a decade!
