After the state funeral at Westminster Abbey, Queen Elizabeth II’s coffin was taken by road to Windsor Castle, a committal service was held in St George’s Chapel, led by the dean of Windsor and with a congregation including the members of the royal family. The Queen’s coffin will be laid to rest in George VI memorial chapel. It will be placed alongside those of her husband Prince Philip and her parents King George VI and the Queen Mother.

Wonderful service. All attendees dressed appropriately. I will be glad, however, when the style of weedy strands of hair straggling down the face is over—a bit silly looking on Lady Louise who is otherwise lovely.

It's just not the time for petty observances about hair. Let her be a young lady and have her hair in an age appropriate style.

Anon 6:11, climb down off your high horse. You are the petty one sniping at another poster who made a legitimate comment about hair fashion and has every right to do so on a fashion blog. Louise is 18, not 8, and she will regret that stringy hair-in-her-eyes choice for the rest of her life. And the poster said, correctly, I believe, that she’s lovely.

@anon 2:30 Louise is most certainly a lovely young lady. No one said she wasn't. The Wessex's should be very proud of their children. Why choose a funeral of all times to pick on her appearance? Most people understand that a funeral is the rare exception to the fashion critique rule. It shouldn't matter so much how they look. What is most important is that they are there to mourn. Sadly for them, it has to be done in a very public way when the rest of us are allowed to mourn privately. Critique her hair on any other appearance, just not at the Queen's funeral.

It is fine to dislike the style of her hair. I can't see what being 18 has to do with it. She is still very young. If she wants a younger style, it's her business. We all wore clothes and hairstyles that were trendy for the times, and our parents let us do it. She is being a normal girl. Our feelings do not matter. She can make the choice to wear her hair as she pleases. If she had a fresh "Granny" tattoo, I might share your concern. I doubt she will regret anything anymore than any other woman has. More likely, much less, because she is not known as a wild child. Certainly not "weedy strands of hair straggling down the face" and I don't think "she will regret that stringy hair-in-her-eyes choice for the rest of her life." She has handled herself beautifully in the past year and a half, losing both her grandparents. She has been a loving and devoted granddaughter, and she has now endured two great loses in short order. She deserves all the complements and compassion we can muster. I, for one, look forward to seeing what the future holds for this beautiful young lady (no matter how she wears her hair.)

Lady Louise is a young, sensitive young lady who probably also feels insecure and awkward like everyone else at that age. We know that all the negative things we read and hear about ourselves are what remain. Therefore, as so-called adults, we should refrain from criticizing vulnerable young people. And if we take into consideration growing up in public with her estropia, she is perhaps even more unsure of herself than others her age. So a bit polite manners as adults is never wrong. So note to self...

Doubtful it has anything to be brought up so we'll or not. Not saying that they haven't. More that they have been going to church often since they were born.

Letizia and Cp Frederik had to leave for UN in New York. That is what Danish media write.

Both Letizia and Prince Frederick had commitments in NY the next day in connection to the United Nations open sessions. That's why they couldn't stay for the Windsor service.

  7. I remember feeling shocked when P Phillip's coffin started descending into the floor. I didn't know to expect that then. I was more prepared this time, but still felt that same urge to say, "No!". They seemed a great pair. I'm glad they're together again. The service was beautiful. Love the bagpipes at the end.

I lost it when the piper started walking away. I love bagpipes, they're so solem, beautiful and mystical.

Mathilde must be very close to Elizabeth, comparing her to others, she is more open to showing her emotional side in the public.
