Afterwards, a religious ceremony took place at the Cathedral of St Michael and St. Gudula in Brussels. King Philippe, Queen Mathilde, Crown Princess Elisabeth, Prince Gabriel, Prince Emmanuel, Princess Eleonore, former King Albert, former Queen Paola, Princess Delphine, Prince Laurent, Princess Claire, Princess Louise, Prince Aymeric, Prince Nicolas, Princess Astrid, Prince Lorenz, Prince Amedeo, Princess Luisa Maria, Prince Joachim and Princess Laetitia attended the wedding ceremony.

An important reason why the wedding of Princess Maria-Laura and William Isvy took place despite the death of Queen Elizabeth is that it is considered a private event, not a state occasion. A moment of prayer and reflection for Queen Elizabeth II took place during the religious celebration. Princess Maria Laura and William Isvy announced their engagement in 2021. The couple live and work in London.

Her dress for the civil wedding is Gucci, her dress for the religious ceremony is Vivienne Westwood. The tiara is the Savoy-Aosta tiara, and the veil is her grandmother's Queen Paola.

  2. Nice wedding dress(es). The outfits I see on the guests are a very mixed bag - largely disappointing - but I like the red one on Mathilde and the mintgreen one on Eleonore.

She looks too old for that mini dress, the ceremony gown is gorgeous.
The Queen's saucer aka hat is too wide for the indoors. Crown Princess also getting a taste of her mother's choice in hats.

    1. I also feel that the mini dress was not really a good choice for Maria Laura.

Congratulation to the young couple, all the happiness in the world. The Tiara is beautiful, so is her long gown, a bit more makeup would not have hurt.Lots of guests. Hope everyone enjoyed themselves. css

I wish the newlyweds the best of luck. Fashion: beautiful veil,. The dress would be nice, but without the long train. Fixing the train at the waist is not nice. How old is the bride? (I didn't google it), I'm guessing 40. The dress for a civil wedding is too short, it's a good thing the wind wasn't blowing, otherwise it would have been a very embarrassing moment for her
Guests: The royal men look totally suited and cool. As for Queen Mathilde and Princess Elisabeth - in my opinion, their dresses are shapeless and hang on them strangely. And the hats - they are really too big, it's awkward to stand next to someone who has a hat like a smaller umbrella.
I like most the dress of Prince Laurent's daughter - Princess Louise - good cut and fresh color and she looks very chic.

Princess Elisabeth's dress is by Carolina Herrera and the hat and clutch by Fabienne Delvigne. Queen Mathilde wore this hat in 2003 at the wedding of Prince Laurent. There are a lot more pictures on other sites where you can see the hats of the other royal ladies.

Exquisite Belgium lace veil from the family and the tiara is beautiful. I like the simple gown as there was no need for extra fuss with the amazing veil and tiara. The bride looked quite tired but wishing her and her new husband well.

The veil has been made in Brussels a very long time ago and belonged to Queen Paola's grandmother. After her Princess Astrid, Queen Mathilde, Princess Claire, Princess Elisabetta "Lili" and now Princess Maria Laura wore the veil. The tiara comes from Prince Lorenz' family.

In the meantime I found out that Princess Elisabetta "Lili" didn't wear the veil when she married Prince Amedeo. She wore a veil that was inspired on this one but was much lighter.

What a beautiful classic bridal gown. Simple dress with an astonishing lace veil. The royals all look so very well dressed, there is not one exception. However the hats of QMathilde and the crownprincess are too big for me.

She looked lovely and the dress and veil were beautiful. But I wish she had more volume in her hair for that gorgeous tiara!

Did Elisabeth raid her mothers closet, the dress and hat age her so much like no honey but I love the frills at the bottom

I like Maria Laura dresses very pretty but I am very concerned about her, the close up pictures, she look way to old for the 34 she is, and it looks like she lost a lot of weight. I sincerely hope it is just the wedding nerves and I wish her good luck for the future, but if she were my daugther i would keep an eye at her just in case.

I had some of the same concerns, Anonymous 21:49. And I though she was much older than 34. Weddings can be stressful, though. Not everyone likes being the center of attention—it’s an ordeal for more introverted people. That can impact sleep and health before a big event like this.

Princess Maria Laura is really skinny. When I saw her engagement pictures, it was a long time since I saw a recent picture of her, I was really concerned. She always has been thin, but now it is really anxious. The fact that her hair is done in an updo don't help either. Before her eyes were always made up with black eyeliner which suited her very well. If you look carefully there is a hairpiece between the tiara and her own hair. I wish to end in wishing her and her husband all the luck they can get in their life as a married couple.

    3. To me, the simple explaination is that Princess Maria Laura is a very beautiful person who just happens to be thin and not photogenic.
Prince Philippos of Greece's wife (Princess Nina of Greece) is another beautiful, always smiling, person who is not photogenic.
Their beauty is felt but not seen and doesn't, unfortunately, show up on photos.
Not all girls/ women (including Princesses)are born to look like a Miss World.
Her dresses are beautiful but maybe an inch or two on the length of the civil ceremony dress wouldn't go a miss.
My sincere best wishes for a long and happy marriage.

@ deadeggs. There are pictures of her where she is looking very beautiful but in those days she was not so thin as now. Nobody said she has to look like Miss World. I liked her in the Gucci dress. She has beautiful legs so why not show them.

The short dress for the civil ceremony seems a bit short to me for the occasion but it is cute. Her gown has a simple elegance about it. The Queen and her daughter are a bit uninspiring as far as their outfits are concerned.

  16. Ravissante petite robe pour le mariage civil, ce qui a l'avantage d'étoffer sa silhouette tout en montrant ses belles jambes. Très élégant le drapé de sa robe de mariée ; j'adore son diadème !

To worst dressed royal lady is Princess Astrid. Too much lace, too much feathers in different shades of green, except for the sleeves of the top which are in deep pink. The choker is a dress jewel and part of the top and not a jewel she had already.
The best dressed is Princess Louise (daughter of Prince Laurent). The fit, the shape and the fuchsia red are really good for her as well as the headband with flowers.
I noticed that prince Emmanuel's and especially prince Grabriel's trousers are too short. Prince Gabriel's hairstyle "armée belge" suits him, although I preferred him with his longer hair, but he is still a good looking young prince.
Princess Claire's dress by Natan is the same dress Queen Mathilde has in white with a green and pink flower print and Queen Maxima has it in plain turquoise. Princess Claire's hat is the biggest of all the hats. It must be fashion again. I prefer a big hat than a hairband or fascinator.

  18. Princess Delphine seems to have a fetish for “beetle crusher” shoes.
Her hat, I think, is publicity for her next art exhibition.
The frock of her daughter, Princess Joséphine, has an arty look to it with the graffiti written on it. Can’t see exactly what the word is ??
Her son, Prince Oscar looks dapper in his suit and tie.

    1. In my opinion, Princess Delphine needs one or two extra buttons on the front of her red dress.
On two other ‘royal’ sites, her cleavage allows her black bra to be showing.
If her intent was to have a low cleavage with her black bra and busts showing, then she has succeeded.

@ deadeggs. I really cannot find any graffiti or text what so ever on Princess Joséphine's dress and I looked more than once. What I see is that the dress is made of a fabric with a kind of "tie dye effect". I don't find Princess Delphine's neckline to deep. There are other royal ladies with a deep neckline (have a good look at the other pictures).

    3. @Anon 12/9/22 19:44
You are right about the graffiti. When I look closer at the photo of Princess Joséphine, the light shining on her dress at the top left corner makes a blackish mark that looks like a written word. There is a lot of tight pleating on the bust line which gives a strange result on the photo.
So I withdraw my comment about the graffiti.
Re the neckline of Princess Delphine’s dress.
On two other royal sites there are slightly different photos of the Princess with just a peep of her black bra showing. Not the best look IMO for a wedding. A button or two wouldn’t alter the dress at all but would stop her underwear being on display. Or maybe I’m becoming a bit too prudish in my old age (or jealous) .

  19. The civil ceremony dress, I am not a fan of, especially the length, too short, not age appropriate, but that is my personal opinion, she looks happy. She was a lovely bride.

Best wishes to the newlyweds. The Tiara was fantastic I also like the gown and the dress earlier, but it could have been a little longer. The Bride looked great. so did the Groom. Pss Astrid was a disappointment to me both pieces are ok by itself but not together. The hat sorry to say was like a mop. Not everybody was dresses that one could say wow. Hope everyone enjoyed themselves anyway, css
