  3. For me, the Duchess of Sussex always looks her best with monochrome and pale colours;
And that combination comes out spelling ‘chic’.
She appears to be a person who doesn’t go for busy prints and flowers.
Hope her podcast (had to look up the word) is a great success.
The Duchess’s tenue fits in well with the decor in the room.

Yes, you have understood wrongly. They wanted more control over their working lives, what issues to be involved in and how to promote them. They still need publicity for that but want to be able to have a private life on their terms.

Irony; She discusses in the podcast how the word "ambition" is not a dirty word but is often connotated as such when in reference to women. Guess she's right.

Look, they are still members of the BRF whether active duty or not (and I'm basing that on the fact the Queen said they would always be welcome members of the family and she's the "OG"). They are doing good works - amongst other things, private and public - in and out of their roles/positions/status (however you want to phrase it) as members of the BRF. *AND* (this is the main point here) this forum/blog is about the fashions members of royal/imperial families wear. You don't like her? Fine. There are many who don't like the Grand Duchess of L. There are those who don't like CP Mary of Denmark, and on and on but, we still come here to look at and comment on their clothes, shoes, hats, hairstyles and other sartorial aspects. THAT'S IT!!! So get over it! Get over her! And move on!

My apologies to the moderator but every time there's a post about Megan there is all this other BS that has NOTHING to do with her clothes! Take that @#$%$ somewhere else - or start your own blog.

    7. Why put Crown Princess Mary in the same category as Meghan Markle. Mary is highly respected and loved and is one of the most gracious royals. If you did not know better you would think Mary was born a royal and not marry one. She is so dignified and carries herself with ease and grace. She is also one of the hardest working royals I know. One day she will be one of the most beloved Queens!

@Fitzhugh. Be careful you are twisting the words of Europa you did it with my comments earlier and now you do it again. When I read Europa's message I understand what she is trying to explain. She is not putting CP Mary in the same category as Meghan. But there are indeed people who don't like CP Mary and who have always criticism on her person, face, etc.. just like there are others who can't say a good word of G.D. Maria Teresa of Luxemburg etc... It is a pity that a lot of people use this blog of talking about royals they don't like and forget constantly this blog is about fashion. But automatically when they don't like a queen, a princess or whatever they don't like their clothes either. Some people cannot make a difference. It is perfectly possible to dislike somebody but to admit that the clothes she is wearing are beautiful or suits her very well. So let just talk about clothes, hairstyles, shoes,etc...

It´s sad to see the many negative comments to whatever Meghan or Prince Harry do.
To the critics: When will you be happy?
Do you understand that they need to make a living, carve out a suitable way, that they need to work, since they are of course no longer paid for. How shall they make a living in your view?
Would you (critics) be happy if they work at the supermarket counter or what do you find suitable? Would you be happy if Meghan does work as an actress again or would that be tacky in your eyes? What should Prince Harry do as job, to support his family?
The fact is, that they are not able to just do any ordinary job, given the background they just have. Think also of all the security they need to ensure their and their children´s safety. Harry simply because he was born a Prince. Meghan (or any other woman he would have married), just because of her falling in love with Harry.
That needs to be earned and paid for. Amongst others, they need protection because of the many haters out there...
Voicing opinions is perfectly fine but please be fair. Neither I nor I guess most of you critics know them in person, so please have a bit respect and try to think before being mean.
Be sure that every single person you meet in your life - including the ones you don´t meet in person but you comment on in social media - have a package to bear. Every single person. You cannot know how big and how difficult their packages are. Just be kind, be respectful, uplift instead of put down others. Be decent.

I find it difficult to understand the antipathy to any coverage of Harry and Megan in this blog. The arguments are typically that: 1) they are no longer royal (or shouldn’t be considered royal), 2) they wanted privacy yet here they are seeking publicity, or 3) they are out for money. Yet those arguments are not raised in regard to any number of other individuals routinely covered in this blog. The York princesses have never been working royals yet they are routinely covered without complaint. The same for a many other non-working royals from a variety of countries (the entire Greek royal family). Then there are all of the people covered in this blog who may be related to royalty by birth or marriage but have never been royal themselves - Zara Tindall is a good example. The extended royal family of Monaco is routinely covered yet many of them have never had a royal title, have never been working royals, and are paid directly or indirectly for their appearances (it isn’t by chance that Beatrice Borromeo always wears Dior). As for the desire for privacy, maybe it is that Harry and Megan want to be in control of their lives and decide what aspects are private and what aspects are public. Is that unreasonable? So, what gives?

I totally agree with your line: "Be kind, respectful, uplifting instead of putting others down." So why aren't the Sussexes kind, respectful to the British royal family? Why do they constantly talk about themselves, only about how they "suffered"? Each of us has our own set of troubles and difficulties. In light of how many other underprivileged people are suffering, it is this constant complaining distasteful. I come into daily contact with refugees from the war-torn regions of Ukraine. I talk to mothers whose children have seen bomb explosions next to them.
Prince Philip once said: when you want to be kind, don't talk about yourself. As the coordinator of the Duke of Edinburgh Award in my country, I have already met members of the royal family - and I am glad that it was Prince Edward. The meeting at the British Embassy was really about the students, really about the project. I can imagine if it was Meghan the students would be on the sidelines. As was the case with the Sussexes' visit to South Africa. As a result, the victims of violence in Africa have been completely forgotten. After the visit was mentioned not about the suffering of disabled people and orphans, but about the "suffering" of Meghan.

Question for the author of the blog: Will you also write about other members of the royal families (not only the British one) who have their own private commercial business? Why are you making an exception for the Sussexes?
Why do they even use their titles for commercial activity? Basically, I don't care, in my country, titles of nobility were abolished a hundred years ago, but I assumed that members of royal families used their titles of nobility if they were representing their country and dynasty in favor of some public service (charity, state events etc.) I would be quite interested in the opinion of the British on this matter.

To poster 20:01 re: the negative reactions of the British press were pathetically predictable and merely prove that the entire British establishment and press is against anything, and I mean anything, Meghan says or does. This implacable scorn and criticism is rooted in hatred—it’s a wall of words behind which they think they can hide their racism. The reactions online, individuals able to escape the official line, were quite positive.
And you did miss a lone British writer who thinks for herself: “Courtney Pochin, the lifestyle editor for U.K. tabloid The Daily Mirror, wrote on Twitter: "I'm sorry but Meghan Markle is a genius for this. A podcast about the words used against women, after she's been called everything under the sun. A big FU to her haters, but in a very classy and clever way. 👏🏻 👏🏻👏🏻#Archetypes."

The haters here need to stop assuming the rest of the world is fooled by the press of a little area like the UK. Millions outside that vicious bubble do not ascribe to their unkind narrow-mindedness. Meghan is a successful, highly intelligent and much admired and voice in this world. https://people.com/royals/meghan-markle-archetypes-podcast-tops-spotify-world-charts/

The tabloids are not out of touch: the tabloids saw the Oprah Winfrey
interview in which M. discredited the Royal family in awfull way ( I think you do remember and I do not have to repeat the three most obvious “ not- truths).
I donot think the British press will ever forget nor forgive, nor most of the British people, and yess, this is of influence in how they look at every thing she does.

Well, just because people have listened to the podcast doesn't mean they are admirers.

The monochrome setting and outfit seem to be a deliberate choice promote of the message of the podcast. Nothing really stands out as a focal point. 'Ambition' has long been used as club to beat women with if they aspire to things that others feel they are not deserving of for whatever reason. In the case of married-in royal ladies, one only has to google the name of the lady, and the word ambition and the result is rarely flattering.
If the Windsors are feuding, why are people who are not, and never will be Windsors, offended. This feud will only be settled amongst the family members regardless of what the public thinks. To be blunt, this is not your problem.

Lastly, with all due respect to Ms. Electra. The regular fashion commenters have long gone. It is disappointing that so many commenters with poor critical thinking are allowed to post comments that explore the personal sphere of the lives of the Sussexes. Things happen for a reason, and if they felt life in the RF was untenable, they had every right to leave and call out their abusers too. They are not teenagers who ran away from home to live life in love and should be brought back home and punished.

Regarding the heater/fire incidient, did she not read the tea towels found in every souvenir shop in London, it's the British mantra, Have a Cup of Tea and Carry On. I really thought, considering how intelligent she seems, that she would have done her homework on the family and institution she was marrying in to. I think her outfit is lovely, as is the couch she's sitting on.

@1:11 Oh! the things she would have found out with a truly deep dive. Enough to make an honest person shudder.
She married the man, not his family. Their job is to be supportive of him instead of demanding meek compliance with whatever he is told.

She married into the British Royal Family, something she was fully aware of and yes it does demand a degree of compliance.
