On July 17, 2022, Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary and their children Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine greeted the Grasten Ring Rider Association (Ringriderforenings) parade. The event took place outside the gates of Grasten Castle in southern Denmark, where the Danish royal family is on vacation.
The parade takes place every year on the third weekend in July and is a party that extends over several days with a number of events in the city. Grasten Ring Rider Association's parade consists of about 300 horse riders and more than 100 on bicycles, all of which make their way past Graasten Castle.

I suspect that Princess Isabella's necklace with the initial "B" is most likely more to do with her name - that is, IF she prefers to be called Bella or Belle, then again she might prefer to always be called by her actual Birth Name of Isabella. Much like the current Princess Of Wales, Princess Catherine - she was named + Christened as Catherine + her family + close friends for her entire life have always called her by her Birth Name "Catherine", with only the Media + then subsequently the Public, calling her by the shortened version of Catherine; being that if Kate, despite the fact that she has quietly + publicly, stated that her name is Catherine + it's how she has always preferred to be addressed. With Isabella, if she has stated Bella, same as Josephine, I'm unsure as to whether she prefers Josephine or Jo or Jocie + if Vincent prefers Vincent, Vin, Vinnie, and Christian, whether he prefers Christian or Topher or Chris or Ian. Anyway, I did digress somewhat. Sorry

DeleteMany a times, I have thought that Queen Mary could readily pass as Princess Catherine's older sister. They certainly do look very much alike a lot of the time. They are both very similar in multiple ways too : both are graceful, gracious, beautiful, serene, dedicated to their respective husbands (Fredrik + William) + to their adorable family. They both coped exceptionally well with the difficult transition of being a regular citizen-a commoner as many reporters term them, to becoming (future) Princesses + Queens. Mary is remarkable in how she not only assimilated to Royal life but also to an entirely new Country, Customs, Language, Traditions etc. Given the very Fact that Mary is Australian born yet excelled in learning the language-spoken + written + read, of Denmark + surrounding Countries plus customs etc, yet an American born TV Cable Actress was unable to transition to an English speaking Royal Family, being the British Royal Family + lasted less than 2 years as a Royal before crying that it's too hard of a transition, it simply highlights how Queen Mary, really did narry for Love + is Committed in every way to both Marriage + her Royal Appointment as the now Queen of Denmark.

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful family--sad not to see Prince Christian though. Love the summery outfits of CP Mary, Princess Isabella, and Princess Josephine. Wonder if Isabella has been shopping in Mama's closet again as her skirt looks familiar (I love that Mary shares with her daughter). Josphine is adorable--so animated. CP Frederik and Prince Vincent are twinning with their denim shirts and cognac-colored jeans. The love and affection of the CP family is a joy to see.

Josephine + Vincent are adorable Tween Twins. I love that Josephine is a free spirit, who doesn't get hindered too much by protocol + will wave enthusiastically, sing, dance as though no one is watching her + that she runs with gusto to greet her friends, embracing them with sincere hugs. Young Prince Louis from the British Royal Family is their free spirit at the moment + I hope he continues to enjoy his unique personality + doesn't feel compelled to confirm too soon + that the Press doesn't create the "label" for him to fall into the trap of being forever called "cheeky or naughty or oh he is a young Harry". The press already label him too much, whereas Josephine thankfully has a more gentle Press who write about her + her siblings. No child should be labelled or ridiculed by the Press. Children are children until they are fully developed at 25. It takes until that age to fully comprehend cause +effect, circumstances + responsibilty. Of course some mature quicker but many take their time + that is just fine.
DeleteI always enjoy seeing photos of this annual events for two main reasons: 1) It is a delightfully low key yet important cultural event which brings the crown family together with the Danish people in a relaxed and casual way during the Summer and 2) we've really had a chance to see the family and especially the children grow each year from their participation. The twins are almost teenagers now and Princess Isabella is blossoming into a beautiful young lady. I clearly recall when all three of them (and Prince Christian) would accept the flowers and bouquets from the riders when they were so much younger.

This is so refreshing to see, a close bonded, affectionate family. The twins are animated, their individual personalities are shining through. I love CP Mary's dress, it suits her well, very becoming. Pss Isabella has grown into a lovely young lady.
ReplyDeleteP Josephine is my favourite ;a happy cheery soul. The riders and horses are well turned out .Were is P. Christian as it is school holidays? I like Mary's dress. Wrong shoes; you would not walk on gravel with them; the soles are thin leather; they are best on carpet or soft flooring, they show scuff marks too easily. The men look great.(Tabby)

Princess Isabella is becoming a very lovely young woman. One day she will be taller than her father. Her two brothers and sister are all beautiful children. CP Frederik and CP Mary can be very proud of them.
