  1. Tout de suite pour moi, la Reine a ma préférence dans cette robe fleurie très estivale sur laquelle elle porte une petite veste matelassée d'une couleur rose très pâle ; craquant Oscar qui a su accorder sa veste à celle de son papa !

The Swedish royal ladies all look wonderful! Prince Oskar looks adorable and Princess Estelle looks so pretty in the photos of the CP family with the King and Queen. CP Victoria's dress is especially beautiful.

@Anon 06:44 J "Birthday girl" is an English term for a woman or girl of any age.

So 70 years man is birthday boy?

@Anon 06:56 Yes exactly, and even more than 70yo. It is a good humour, term of endearment for anyone celebrating a birthday.
For example yesterday a friend who was celebrating his 81st birthday on the golf course phoned me from the clubhouse to say thank you for the birthday message I left on his cell. I asked him "So how was the birthday boy's score today?" He laughed and told me "Two over par". (Which is an excellent score).

The most beautiful birthday pictures for years, all look excellent. The little details are magical, like Oskar's trainers or the hemline on CP Victoria's dress. What is special is that there are only favorite children in this family.

Oh I LOVE all the dresses and they all look simply wonderful.
Silvia's dress is cheerful and simple in it's style.
Victoria's dress is festive, yet, delicate and somehow more softer. Just as her hair are arranged in more softer and flattering style.
Madeleine in pink looks very beautiful, so fit and tall. Love that picture where she's wrapped in beige shawl. Very elegant.
Sofia's Josephine dress is dreamy and romantic, fits her really well.
Ebba Årsjö dress looks also very lovely.

I don't know what happened last with Sofia. Her style has already reached its limits. I remember her as a person who knew who she was and what she wanted. Also in terms of style. Now I don't know what to call it.

I'm in. I didn't recognise her at first glance. After a short high in terms of looks and style, things are now going downhill again. Her 80s haircut with the awful strands only makes things worse. Madeleine just always looks good. She could put on a gunny sack and still be a good looker. Frieda

  8. What wonderful family photos. Yes, yes and yes to the frocks seen in the Photo N°1, that is, Queen Silvia, Princess Victoria and Princess Estelle. Nice to see Prince Daniel in something other than his "on-duty-double- breasted-dark-coloured-suit".
Looks like Prince Oscar wants to be like his dad.
Question ?? I'm not an expert on men's fashion but is it O.K. for a man to wear black shoes with light coloured pants and jacket?
Certainly, it would be hard for a woman to avoid criticism for a match like that.

I prefer blue jeans and white shirt on mens. So it's not OK.

    2. I also reacted to the black shoes. For me, it´s too stark a contrast. I would have opted for brown or navy shoes or loafers, ideally suede.
I also think that the combination of the two beiges (trousers and blazer) is far from ideal.

Its a bad matching. Black socks only in winter and with dark trousers.

No brown shoes after 6 o'clock in the evening, according to etiquette rules- so yes!

This etiquette rule come from an era that men only had black and brown shoes. These days men wear also different kind of shoes in other colors. On dark denim pants and a light blue linen jacket men sometimes wear dark blue or grey shoes. Sometimes they wear loafers with black pants and a velvet jacket to go to a reception (see Prince William).

A general remark : all the dresses are too long except Queen Sylvia's and Princess Estelle. The most beautiful dress to me is the one Princess Madeleine is wearing, except for the length and the uneven hemline.
Princess Sofia's dress is not bad but need a lot of work : changing the balloon sleeves, the length (taking into account the flowers that cannot disappear otherwise it is not beautiful too) etc... CP Victoria's dress is beautiful but too long. Little prince Oskar is lovely, but the suit is too big for him. Better put it away until next year, perhaps it will fit better then. He can wear his white trainers with the suit, that is what little boys do at that age. They have time enough to get dressed like an adult.

I think Oscar looks fine in his suit. Yes, it's a bit too big now, but at least it's comfortable for him. And if they "put it away until next year", maybe he will have outgrown it by then - it'll be too small & he'll never have gotten to wear it. *Regina

    2. @Regina : You are so right about Prince Oscar and his suit. If he's too big for it next year, maybe hell be able to hand it down to one of his cousins.

@Regina and Deadeggs. When I hear both of you the suit is bought for the wrong season. It will be just fine during winter when it is too cold to wear it. Buying too big clothes for children is never a good idea. Generally they look never good in it. Too big one year, too small the next year. Finally the cousins will be the ones who are looking good in it (if they want to wear Oskar's old suit).

I wonder why some people have always have remarks on Princess Sofia. If she wants highlights in her hair why not, Princess Madeleine does too. If she wants to wear no sandals but closed espadrilles ( because that is what I think she is wearing on her feet) so be it. P. Madeleine and CP Victoria wear the sandal version of an espadrille OK if that is what they like. It is summer, they all are dressed individually according to their likes and needs. Queen Sylvia needs her down jacket for the evening. Why not ? It will keep her warm.
