On June 8, 2022, Queen Maxima of The Netherlands opened the Major Bosshardt House of the Salvation Army in Amsterdam. The historic house on Oudezijds Voorburgwal was the residence of Major Bosshardt, where she received vulnerable people from the center of Amsterdam. The house has been restored to its original state. The living room of the building will remain a refuge for vulnerable people.

Major Bosshardt (Alida Margaretha Bosshardt 1913 – 2007) was a Dutch officer of the Salvation Army. She worked mostly in the Red Light District (locally known as ‘De Wallen‘) and became a national hero through her work in Amsterdam. At the end of 1951, Major Bosshardt established the Salvation Army’s headquarters at the Oudezijds Voorburgwal 14, right in the middle of De Wallen area, in a house she rented.

Beautiful Elie Saab-dress, to bad the draped shawl ruins the overall look.

Agree Miranda. Sweden’s CP Victoria has worn this same great dress.

Love the dress and the coral colour (it's Elie Saab after all); don't like the flowers at the back and off to the side of her hair - it looks awkward. And as for pulling a cord on a curtain to reveal a very life-like wax model of a person hiding underneath...that is one of the creepiest things I've seen. Watch the video when the curtain gets tangled and they have to part it with their hands to reveal the woman hidden there. I thought it was a real person at first and was wondering why she wasn't moving during the kerfuffle! They could have had a better way of doing it, is all I'm saying.

Duty calls, great look for the Queen. I like the dress and the Jewelry. I think Victoria has the same dress?. The Salvation Army is a great Organisation for helping the needy in Country and abroad.

What a terrible combination, the dress is not too bad, it has a good length and it favors her silhouette, from the neck up is like a Christmas tree, and then pearls and a trench coat?
I am sure she has many dress coats that would’ve been more appropriate. Jewelry can be an asset for many outfits, but as usual she is overdone.

I agree, she just needed earrings as the pearls and head flowery detail ages her overall look. The pashmina makes her look sloppy and detracts from the lovely dress. MR

I agree. It is like a firework of accessories. But still,Maxima (by the way what a perfect name for her!) is by far my favorite royal lady. Such energy. I wonder if she has somebody who helps her with her fashion choices…anyway it is always a pleasure to see pictures of her. At least you can say that she is never boring.

  7. Nice dress. But neither the beige shawl nor the beige trenchcoat go with it. The brown shoes and especially the gloves are odd choices too. Oh, and the black watch needs to go too. This dress is simply not a day dress. It´s best suited for a wedding or christening and should be styled accordingly.
In summary, I like all the items individually, but they are a mess combined.

I agree @Vanessa. The dress itself is beautiful but those accessories…too much. And I’m not a fan of whatever that floral, frilly thing is at the back of her head. This dress looks very similar to one CP Victoria of Sweden has worn. -Angelia

      My thoughts exactly, Vanessa.
The dress is not designed for an engagement like this and not as daytime wear for sure.
All the other additions look so odd.
However, her beauty shines all the same.

Very pretty dress--a beautiful repeat. I trying to figure out what's stuck on the back of her head but her hairstyle is quite nice. I wish she had coordinated her gloves and shoes to the shade of the shawl--the gloves and shoes are bit too brown for the soft, summery, peachy dress in my opinion.

Top to bottom: Hair thing has to go, no point, and odd looking sticking out of the side of her head.
Coat and shawl: Pick one, make a choice, not use both.
Dress: too fussy and does not fit well, color is not in your 'good palette."
Bag/shoes/earrings/gloves: Do not go with the lacey material of the dress or the color palette.
Hair: not too bad since its pulled back into some sort of bun. jj

  10. Jolie robe que je crois avoir déjà vue sur Victoria mais l'ornement fleuri dans les cheveux me semble trop imposant ; les boucles d'oreilles et le collier seuls auraient amplement suffi ainsi peut-être que le large châle !

I think she looks great. I think a lot of people just like to criticize her.

  13. This would be a lovely dress for a special occasion, the dress is very densely laced. The scarf and trench coat, don't seem to blend well. The overall presentation is a bit of mishmash! The jewellery, a lot going on, with a dress such as this, I feel its too much. Regardless the Queen looks lovely.

  14. Too fussy overall. The headpiece is not matching the general colour-scheme. Big necklace, plus earrings, plus awkward headpiece, plus a busy structured dress, a trenchcoat, a shawl, gloves... makes my head spin.

  15. A complete blunder. What's the point of those flowers on the head? Why the shawl over the dress?
