On May 20, Queen Margrethe II of Denmark and Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands visited the Amager region in Denmark to attend the 500th anniversary of the presence of Dutch farmers in Denmark and the 100th anniversary of the Amager Museum. The anniversary events were celebrated with a one-year delay because of last year’s coronavirus restrictions.
In 1521, Danish King Christian II invited Dutch farmers to settle in Denmark because of their agricultural knowledge. The Dutch farmers settled in Store Magleby in Amager and in the following generations, they developed the specialized Amager farming, which is a particular way of growing vegetables.
The Queen and the Princess attended an official reception at the city hall. Thereafter, the Queen and the Princess visited the Amager Museum, and the organic farm Seerupgaard where Amager farming is still practiced.
It’s nice to see these two together on an outing that reflects the ongoing cooperation between the two countries. Their outfits are typical of each lady’s style and suit them very well. The traditional costumes worn in the group shot are simply splendid! (V.M.)

ردحذفA UFO was seen in Amager, Danmark earlier today. The police says they has had several people calling in and recorded sightings. They will report back on a later time ;)

Its so good to see Princess Beatrix and her upsidedown salad bowl hats out and about! I hope there are more special events where these 2 regal ladies can work together.
