Dress nice color but maybe would be better without frill at the bottom . Earrings are awful and so her hair.

I desagree. I like her earrings and I do not understand what's wrong with her hair. It looks very natural. I agree with the dress, it looks frumpy.

Natural hair does not mean always nice .Her hair are far from being looking nice.

Totally PL, but I don't like her dress nor shoes. The dress might be a maybe if the circle at the bottom wasn't there. Colours go marvellous on her though and hair and make-up are good. Although I like quirky earrings, these are a bit too large to my taste because of they seem to touch the collar of the dress.

  5. I love Princess Laurentien.
She is so 'off-beat'. She has a pop-art fashion taste.
When she comes on stage, she outshines her sister in law (Queen Maxima).
In fact her ensemble today is a bit calm.
But she is not just a pretty face.
She holds some very important positions. e.g. UNESCO Special Envoy on "Literacy for Development" .
She is also the current president of wildlife conservation NGO Fauna and Flora International.
She is well noted for her work in combating illiteracy (The Major Bosshardt Prize 2009)
The dress , No mention about its origins, fashion house etc.
My first impression was that it was a baggy pyjama dress.
But then with Princess Laurentien, it could very well be here pyjamas that she's wearing :-))

I also like her because she is her own person and sticks to her own ideas of dressing. She is that far away from the throne and from prime royal duties that she has room to be quirky and have some fun with her style for the events that she attends (and she does indeed have some high profile roles.) She wears what she wants and what she likes and I find that refreshing in stuffy circles. We don't have to like everything about everyone, but as long at they are not offensive (and she never is) we should cut them some slack and not be too critical.

Not a bad dress. Love the color and the pattern. It is too long but in my opinion the frill can stay. Her make-up is not overdone and looks rather natural. A lot of people don't like her hair. I think she has difficult hair to treat. I always knew her with short hair. I think long hair doesn't suit her. Yes the shoes are a bit weird, but this is a kind of shoe that is coming back and maybe will be on trend again next year.

  7. When you think of everything these people have at their disposal (money, designers and hairdressers) sometimes it is a real feat to look as bad as some of them do. :)

Not every prince/princess in Europe have personal designers. Common people also have good hairdressers, so that is not the point. Princess Laurentien has her own style. She has a lot of personality and won't be changing that for as long as she can.

  8. She sticks to her own style ... rather unconventional ... nothing which I could consider wearing.

I like the dress, both colour and pattern of fabric, although I could live without the ruffle. Her hair is fine but I disagree that she couldn't wear it longer if she wanted - it needs a very deep condition though because it looks very dry. The only thing I really don't like are the earrings - I just find them a bit OTT with all the blue of the dress. What I really like is that she dreses to please herself and doesn't just follow trends.

  11. By Princess Laurentien standards this seems relatively tame and if it were just a bit shorter, I would really like it--the bright blue with the yellow accessories is a lovely summer look.

strange outfit. The shoes are ugly, as the earrings, bag and other bits and bobs of yellow she threw on. Hair could have been combed nicely, its a mess. rachel

Totally Princess Laurentian! Offbeat, unique, and not for everyone. Still, I like her and respect her staying true to herself in terms of her style preferences. Like everything but the shoes and always glad to see Princess Laurentian!
