All of the royal ladies look beautiful, especially Queen Sonja. Her gown is gorgeous and the emeralds are sublime. CP Mette-Marit is lovely in her low-key gown. Martha Louise's red dress is very pretty and the chandelier earrings are the perfect touch. It is so good to see Princess Astrid. Her caftan-type gown and matching shoes look exotic and beautiful. The King and Crown Prince are handsome, as always.

  2. How wonderful to see all these traditional costumes. They all look very festive.
The royal family looks splendid as well, I like Sonja´s white gown in particular. Märtha Louise´s red is fantastic as well. In Mette-Marit´s case I like the silhouette and style, but not the colour and not the gathering in the skirt.

    1. I agree about the colour of MM gown. She needs a brighter colour. I like the model though, and her hair is beautiful.

Well done Queen Sonja and Crown Princess Mette-Marit! This is how you show respect to your guests - with a beautiful outfit and well coifed hair. I love both dresses. It is so obvious that all the sportsman (and sportswomen?) enjoyed the occasion. They are such a down-to-earth royal family.

I have noticed it too. I like his traditional costume. It is like he just stepped out of a Nordic fairy tail.

Top marks to all 4 ladies!
Their gowns and dresses are beautiful...not over-the-top, and all appropriate to their individual styles and figures. The men also look very dapper in their black-tie, and the athletes resplendent in their National dress and proud smiles.
This is a perfect example of how a country celebrates their national pride and achievements the right way.

I love the photo of the king laughing. I don't think I've seen him so jolly.

What a wonderful event! The beautiful traditional dress outfits from many of the guests are beautiful--and what a wonderful solution for a black tie dinner when you might not have the right thing to wear in your own closet. Love, love, love Queen Sonja's whole look! She really looks fabulous. Martha Louise and Astrid are also beautifully dressed--its great to see both ladies take part in the dinner. CP Mette-Marit is wearing a very pretty gown and she looks wonderful--I just wish the color was different, something brighter. The King and Crown Prince look handsome in their tuxedos.

MM's dress is a no for me. Not a good color for her and I don't like the pattern nor the fit. Queen Sonja's jewels are making her dress. Märthe Louise looks like she is the only lady with a low neckline. Not that she cannot have it, she is a beautiful woman, always have been. Love the caftan of Princess Astrid.

  16. Queen Sonja looks beautifully groomed, her gown and jewels are perfect, love the necklace and earrings emeralds and diamonds, I can assume. How marvellous and what a bonus to see Princess Astrid. Her caftan gown with gold shoes, she looks beautiful. Martha Louise's earrings look stunning, I would love to see a closeup of them, beautiful. What a marvellous dinner the Norwegian athletes and Royal family looked to have a great time. Congratulations to them, a wonderful effort, 37 medals, well done.
