Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg took part in the Televie 2022 charity event in Mertzig. This year marks the 20th edition of the fundraising action, which was initiated by RTL. Once again, individuals, clubs, associations, and businesses got together in support of cancer research by collecting money for the Télévie donation week.

Bizarre choice of outfits to say the least. The first reminds of the Franciscan robe (missing the rope with the cross) and the other the robe boxers wear before/after the match. Not the best choice IMO. But on the other hand, I love her longer hair and as always warm smile.

    2. you hit the nail on the head. Her hair is loverly we shall not mention the Abbots robe and belt ever again. The bathrobe is very nice perfect for dealing with ones chores first thing in the morning for breakfast.

She’s wearing a monk’s robe. I’m sure the fabric is sumptuous and the belt looks nice. But color is blah and way too long for the GD.

The brown (taupe) outfit remembers me the robe of a monk. The blouse or jacket she wore during the evening looks more like the jacket of a silk pajama. This time GD Maria-Theresia didn't wear one of her nice jackets or coats.

Hair and make up are fabulous! After reading through the comments I do see what others are seeing with the first outfit.Yes, it is quite like a monk's robe or from the Star Wars costume department. But, what if it were another color, a bright color like red or lovely pastel shade of yellow? I think the color is a large part of the issue as well as the jacket being so long. Perhaps without the jacket or a different jacket we might like the dress better. Just some ideas. As for the jacket on the televised fundraiser--it looks like a luxurious silk kimono-style jacket. I can see how the GD could make it quite glamorous but we just can't see enough here.

Good points, Janet. I agree that a different colour (especially the two you mention) would have made a big difference, as well as a shorter outer coat. A small brooch or necklace would also have helped in dispelling the monastic appearance.
I also agree that it would have been nice to have seen more of the second outfit. I'm sure that it is much more stylish than what we can see.

I had to laugh when I was the outfit, sorry, but it looks like a priest or monks outfit. What a strange garment to wear. ali

  9. Both outfits look lovely. I do love her hair cut in this style and the slight color streaks, she looks great.

I don't understand why MT is perpetually poorly dressed. She could hire a fashion consultant, or go on the internet where you can find lots of excellent suggestions about clothes for petite, curvy women like her.

Ok, it's not my cup of tea, but I like that MT are not like all the other royals. So I say thank you to MT, Maxiama and Mette-Marit who dress after their own nose. It's refreshing! And I love her short blond hari. Suits her perfectly.

    1. Fortunately, clothes don't make the monk (or the nun).
