Another great look by QM; the pillbox with ponytail suits her well and I like the flower twist on the dress as it's bulb season. Dress has a good length and seems to fit well. Happy to see that the queen didn't add a necklace or brooch, as otherwise it would have been too much.

  2. Yes high season for bulb flowers in NL .... I think she is quite nicely dressed, however a bit overdressed as often fr this visit. I would be delighted to have a similar dress.

  5. I think they've had a positive reply to Queen Maxima's ad for a stylist.
But let's not get the party lights up yet. And don't open the champagne.
Wait and see what tomorrow brings.
Many times she has got us up on a high and then throws one of her disasters at us. But she is adorable, you know, with or without a stylist.

You are so right. I think we just have to enjoy the good days as they come. The past few days have also been a lesson in color. Maybe we can open one bottle to celebrate the brief but powerful tutorial in wearing flattering colors. ~d

The blue looks wonderful however when looking at the last photo both seem a bit overdressed for this visit ... I.P.

It is tradition in the Netherlands that the king and queen visit every year the region where the tulips and other bulb flowers are cultivated. Former queens Juliana and Beatrix went there also every year. They were always well dressed to do so, never casual. As for King W. Alexander what else can he wear than a suit ?

A part ses bracelets qu'elle a l'air de mettre tous les jours, elle n'a mis qu'une paire de boucles d'oreilles (pas de collier, ni de broche).

Love the dress. A pity we cannot see it well underneath the coat. In general Oscar de la Renta dresses are very stylish.

I think she looks good. Nice to see her not wearing Natan. As for being overdressed, there is some kind of guide as to when to do the full hat n gloves thing. Obviously type of visit etc. I think that as she is
there as the actual Queen (along with King) , then its hats and looking smart. Being patron etc on visits means no hat and the slightly sloppier looks. KM

wonder how those sky high heels were sinking into the dirt in the middle of these two wandering through fields.

Maxima looks lovely. Her styling is spot on. I love the pink lip. The Oscar de la Renta dress is gorgeous. I could see Letizia wearing this dress, too.

  14. One of the very few times that she looks good if a bit overdressed. She needs to give away everything Nathan in her wardrobe.

I second that. There are one or two Natans that are Ok . Perhaps we can convince Queen Mathilde to join her in the give away.

@Nalerina. Oscar de la Renta could be good for Queen Mathilde too but then the blogsters will have remarks that Queen Mathilde wears dresses with too big flowers. In this case big flowers in white lace.

@Kteach. She is not overdressed. This is the yearly visit to the places where the tulips and other bulb flowers are cultivated. It is tradition in the Netherlands that the Queen and/or King visit these places. You cannot expect them to go in jeans and sweatshirt.

Stick with Oscar, Queen Maxima! You can't go wrong there. Love that dress.
And she and her King look totally engaged in the the people and in each other. A great event. The Netherlands has some of the most beautiful gardens with flowers that I have ever visited.
