I like Isabella's blazer. The Queen's fur jacket seems a little out of place.

Queen Margrethe never stopped to wear her fur coats and jackets and apparently she can get away with it. In other countries queens and princesses stopped wearing real fur a long time ago.

She can get away with it because Denmark is the world's biggest exporter of fur and it's considered an important part of the Danish economy. Most people in Denmark would never criticize her for wearing fur.

Isabella is very often seen i Mary's exclusive design as yesterday in Hugo Boss.
      she changes from a
primary school after the summer holidays. And she will fits better in at the snobby Herlufholm now she is a teenager. But in daytime she has to wear the school uniform.

I prefer Princess Isabella's clothes to what Lady Louise is wearing. At least Princess Isabella chooses jackets, pants, sometimes a little handbag that are modern and up-to-date. She definitely not has to wear her greatgrandma's clothes. Lady Louise on the other hand is wearing old fashion dresses, old coats, silly hats etc...

Please show me a picture of Queen Elizabeth wearing a magenta maxi dress with a white beret and one of Queen Margrethe wearing wide black trousers with a checkered blazer!
That's right, they don't wear that sort of thing. I really don't know why Isabella's clothes are so criticized. These days, some of the teenage Princesses such as Isabella or Ingrid Alexandra don't always want to wear dresses, they also wear trousers & blazers. It is a perfectly acceptable alternative to dresses but still formal & elegant as these occasions demand. And it is also very much in fashion!! Wide trousers and blazers, in fun colors such as purple or a simple white, as well as checkered are everywhere these days!

Crown Prince Frederik's rain coat looks very frumpy. Like a coat he keeps in the barn to put on quickly when it rains and he must go outside in the fields. In fact all his costumes and coats are not very well looked after. A big contrast with his wife.

@miss w. Indeed Isabella is always dressed like an adult woman but she is well developed for her age. You cannot expect her to dress like a child, she would look ridiculous.

  6. Dear E.B.B., Why is the queen’ s jacket out of place? She is wearing an OLD fur jacket, it might even be her mother’s, just look at the style. The wind in Copenhagen can be very icy so she is bundling up, very sensible.

    2. Wearing fur is always out of place whether it be and old piece of clothing or fake fur. If you wear it you promote it , fake or old.

@Anon 22:29 Are you not able to figure out that the repetitive comments are a glitch? Why be snarky. It happens to others as well.

@Iris I don't agree with your argument about faux fur. I understand what you are saying, but I would never think of wearing real fur myself and I have no problem with faux fur. I think it is a nice alternative and should be encouraged over wearing real. People that like fur can still have the look without harming animals. I don't see it changing who a person is--if they were not willing to wear real fur before, I don't think seeing more faux fur is going to make them want a mink. ~d

  11. Crown Prince would look hot! in a sack to me. Princess Isabella looks lovely as does the Queen. To those who chose to comment on a fur coat, its her choice what she wears. To me it's no different to someone wearing ugg boots or having sheep skin car seat covers.

Yes, O.K. Prince Frederik is a handsome guy.
But he'd have to have a good scrub and washdown befor I invited him home for "dinner".

      Agreed.
Sorry for being so straightforward, but I just wonder whether CP Frederick had taken a shower before heading to church...
Isabella is beautiful even though her ensemble does nothing for her IMO.
Queen Margrethe is lovely and smiling as always.

This is one of Isabella's better fashion choices I do like the jacket not a fan of the pants her hair looks lovely I think she is still developing her style & there will be lots of hits & missed afterall I am sure many of us have experienced that. Mary

  13. The sheep are not killed for ugg boots or sheep skin car seat cover.
They are shorn by shearers in Australian, NOT KILLED.
So it is not the same.
However I think the Queen always looks lovely in her coat, it may not be the correct thing these days to wear a fur, but how old is it?
    It keeps her warm.
The Prince looks very dishevelled as per usual.
The Princess needs a stylist as she is getting older to give her some tips, I love the jacket on her the pants not a very good fit.

    1. Ugh boots are made from sheep skin, not just their wool. To use a sheep skin you have to kill it.

      Delete
    2. Um, what you're refering to is the wool, that becomes yarn. I'm afraid that if you're after the skin, for uggs, the animal has to be dead. Would be awful otherwise :-D
Denmark is one of the world's biggest exporter of fur, especially mink. Would be odd if the Head of State were against that.

    3. Sharni, hate to be the one to tell you but shearing sheep is the removal of the wool. Sheep skin products (ugg boots) are made from their skin after they have died.

    4. Yes Gail, you are right, sheeps are tortired and killed for Uggs.

To me these people dont have a clue on what fashion means.

The heir to the throne looks like a homeless, the teenager princess dresses like a business woman ( with bad results however), the queen wears an old fur : converting to the ecological would be too bad??

In a monarchy the main purpose of a royal family is not fashion, but being the head of state and the next one. Of course it is nice if they are well dressed, but for fashion it's models and other "ordinary people" who show the newest fashion.
By the way, have a look how the prince of Wales dresses when going to church in Sandringham. His suit and coat are well made and good quality fabric but they have not been cleaned or pressed in the last 20-30 years. Perhaps that's ecological?

Its for sure more ecological than killing animals for a fur.

      Delete
    3. Anonymous19/4/22 11:34

@ Margot. Is it a joke ? If his suits and coat have not been cleaned or pressed the last 20-30 years he must smell a lot when he is next to other people. Wouldn't be the one that is sitting next to him in church or elsewhere! You call it ecological, I call it not hygienic. Nobody said we must be less hygienic to be more ecological. There are other ways to be ecological and more effective than not to wash your coats and suits anymore !
