The coat fits well, and it’s a good colour for her. Overall she looks cosy and warm with her furry hat and trusty suede boots. (V.M.)

  2. I appreciate the simplicity of the Duchess's ensemble. The ruffle peeking out from the neck of her coat, the Queen Mother's rock crystal brooch, and her pearl drop earrings are beautiful accents to her coat and hat. Well done.

Sir David was the instigator of Southend-on-sea becoming a City; Bravo to him; although sadly he was killed last year. I think Camilla needed a bright outfit,(the colours for Wales are red, green and white);(Navy skirt, green blazer and a mix of red ,green and white in a scarf) that hat reminds me of a lampshade, she should never listen when Charles tells her what to wear. I like the brooch and the earrings. Prince Charles looks good(Tara)

She wasn't in Wales and both are dressed in sombre colours - possibly given the Ukraine situation.

Why do you think Charles has told her what to wear?

    2. If Prince Charles tells her what to wear, then he shoulddd give her the address of the nearest rubbish tip for those trusty suede boots.

Although the DoC is well dressed today (in particular like the way the collar of the blouse pops out of the jacket and the lovely brooch), I can't help thinking that she's either attending a memorial or church service instead of a 'festive moment'. The hat's one one would expect when it's minus zero or there's a layer of snow.

I do agree except for the remark about the hat. It's still wintertime

  6. Un ensemble confortable pour cette visite mais dans une couleur verte, cela aurait été vraiment parfait ; j'adore ses bijoux particulièrement la broche en cristal de roche !

I try not to comment on the non-fashion, but think its important to point out that I think the Duchess is most probably wearing black out of respect for the much praised MP Sir David Amess who had worked hard to secure Southend the status as a city. He was tragically stabbed to death last October whilst conducting a 'surgery' to meet local constituents.
I hope this clarifies why she is not dressed for a 'festive moment', and it is most probable that William and Kate represented the Prince of Wales on St David's Day (patron saint of Wales), in Wales, as they were otherwise engaged! Zed

  8. I admit that I still dislike Camilla but anyway she looks good and regal here.

I can't see what there is to dislike - she's low key, hardworking and quietly supports her husband. But anyway, there are several royals I don't personally appreciate it but still admire their sense of style. Or vice versa - like them but don't think much of their fashion sense.

The hat is meant for much colder days, not a 'close to spring day. It over shadows the rest of the outfit. clare

It's cold, wet and windy in most of the UK - and it's still winter so seems perfectly ok as a constituent part of the outfit. Have to say it's not a style I love though.

The hat and coat seen from a distance reminds me of the publicity for Sandeman's port. Do not know if this brand of port still exists, but in my town there was always such a publicity on a wall when I was a little girl.

  11. I like D Camilla a lot, but most of all I admire her for her lojalty to her Prince and the royal house and for all the good work that she is doing. In this outfit she looks very regal and correct for the occation. A very nice outfit, and IMO the hat suits her very well !
