On December 2, 2021, Queen Letizia attended the reopening of Monasterio de las Descalzas Reales (literally the Monastery of the Royal Discalced) in Madrid. During the event, the collections of Monasterio de las Descalzas Reales, managed by the National Heritage, were reopened to the public. The Monasterio de las Descalzas Reales is a royal monastery administered by the National Heritage (Patrimonio nacional).

The monastery is located in the former palace of Emperor Charles V and Empress Isabel of Portugal. Juana of Austria, youngest daughter of Emperor Charles and Empress Isabel, founded this convent of nuns of the Poor Clare order in 1559. The pope granted a special dispensation to open the convent as a museum in 1960. Today, the monastery houses only a few nuns, and the site is a well-visited national monument.

Love the entire ensemble , I personally have a passion for camel/café au lait coats, they can be combined with almost everything, of course Letizia keeps it simple, loyal to her style. I like the suit combined with the light sweater underneath this time.
    Elegant and chic as usual.

Very beautiful suit, wish the coat didn't overpower it.

  3. Un manteau très élégant qui peut s'harmoniser avec beaucoup d'autres couleurs ; est-ce que ce sont des bottines que nous entrevoyons ?

It's beyond me why so many royals are wearing a coat like a cape; by doing so neither the coat nor the suit look nice while undoubtedly each individual piece is pretty and looks great on QL

    1. Absolutely agree! Either wear a cape or put the coat on correctly. I do like this camel and gray combo though.

    2. I believe there was at one time a belief that it was unladylike to remove one's coat in public. As a result, some royals who still follow the rule will wear coats this way, to make it possible to remove them gracefully. I think it's silly, myself.

I don't understand why wearing a coat over the shoulders is such a problem. Women have been doing it for decades, most notably starting in the 1950s with sweaters and jackets as well as coats. Princess Grace, Princess Caroline, Charlotte Casiraghi, Princess Charlene, Queen Maxima, Princess Diana, Princess Margaret, Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice, Duchess Meghan, Queen Mathilde, Princess Mary, Queen Silvia, Princess Madeleine, Princess Sofia, in addition to Queen Letizia have done it. Royals are not the only ones that do it. Women of note and the everyday woman do it as well. ~d

The pants are too long , inasmuch as they pucker in front. Otherwise, they would hang straight. Other than that, a great look.

feel that a 'break' in the trousers is always necessary with wide-bottom pants or they just to hang badly - see CP Mary. I think they are the perfect length for the modern woman. I would have preferred nude shoes though, rather than this tan pair, for a more polished and coherent look. lcb

Meh, this is one of the few times that I don't like what QL is wearing, the suit seems (for what we can see) baggy and ill-fitted. Adding the open, long coat over her shoulders only exacerbates the problem... Not a fan, sorry!

  8. The pants are not only too long, they are huge on her.
