On December 22, 2021, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde attended a Christmas event organized by Caritas Secours and various local organizations in Verviers. The event was held for the victims of the July floods in which more than 242 people died. The floods occurred in western Europe, with most of the casualties in Belgium and Germany.

  2. Lovely outfit the Queen is wearing, its well coordinated seasonal colors and clutch look appropriate for the occasion. It is a shame we cannot see the entire outfit as the photos only show her from the waist up.

    1. After seeing the additional photos, the cape the Queen is wearing is lovely, accentuates the dress and she looks very regal in the outfit. The shoes and her clutch match well with the cape.

  3. That cape is gorgeous, the way it falls off Mathilde's shoulder, and the tartan dress strikes just the right, informal Christmas note without being too Christmassy. It could be worn at any time of the year with different accessories. Very nice.

  4. I love that shirtdress! I'd love to see the whole thing, but it looks great on her (and I love it on the model).

  5. That had to be heart wrenching to hear about the loss of so many.

Queen Mathilde is beautiful as always. Her hair looks very pretty, and the green cape coordinates well with the lovely dress. Her shoes are gorgeous. King Philippe's suit is somber but attractive.

  7. Cette robe chemise tartan me semble bien jolie mais j'aimerais mieux la voir sur Mathilde - Quelle bonne idée que l'association de la cape verte ; toutes ces couleurs vont très bien avec sa blondeur !
