Everyone looked splendid! Kate is very regal, that blue really suits her and even Kiki earrings look good together with everything else, and I am never fond of Kikis.

I don't like the dress it is too boxy, she looks long and skinny, not very flattering. Kate would have looked nice in a soft pink pant suit like Queen Letizia wore. The hair looks okay; the earrings are the wrong colour .Camilla's dress is too dark; and also not very flattering; now lets think what would have Princess Diana worn; probably an aquamarine dress with a detailed pearl collar, knee length.(Tara)

    1. What happened to individualism, why should Kate have to wear a different color and style like Queen Letizia. Letizia wears what looks best on her and Kate should wear what she thinks looks good on her. As far as Camilla and Diana the are totally two different people and you should not compare the two. I am sure many of us miss Princess Diana and have a soft spot in our hearts for her!

It's a business occasion - few women would were pink to such event.
I think the colour is well chosen for the occasion.
But yes, she's very thin-hope not anorectic.

Something seems to be a bit off between her and William if one should judge by the photos. But who knows..?

Fitzhugh wants to know what happened to individualism and yet Tara is communicating what she thinks as an individual, quite hypocritical. Let her be an individual too.
Yes, Camilla's dress is too dark and yes, Diana would have chosen better.

Kate is wearing a fantastic dress in a royal colour. Could have been a bit shorter. But indeed can we just stop comparing one royal to another.

    6. @The Lady, I would never want to come off as a hypocrite, all I am saying is that Duchess Kate should wear what she likes and makes her feel good and comfortable in as Queen Letizia should have that same luxury too!
Also why should Duchess Camilla have to wear the same thing as Princess Diana. they are two different individuals who each have their own style and there would of been a 14 year old age difference between them if she were still alive. Somehow that does not seem fair to Camilla. I have always tried to show compassion to everyone!

Katherine looks superb as always, however, I am tired of the mid calf skirt, it makes her look long and thin. She his a young woman and has beautiful legs, a knee length skirt would be more suitable.

This one is`nt even mid calf. It is way too long. Anything from below knee to mid calf would have looked better.

This is a strictly business cocktail reception, and everyone's attire is appropriately sober and even more appropriately unremarkable.
Catherine has attempted to fit this mold but in my opinion, it doesn't suit her. She seems out of place here.

This appears to be an important cocktail style of reception and requires low-key, understated fashion from the ladies. I think their outfits have been well chosen.
On the other hand, it makes them look a bit dowdy.

I note that in photos N°4 and N°5, Duchess Kate seems to be looking for the camera. Or maybe it just my imagination.

  5. How great the ladies look! Kate is quite lovely and elegant in her blue dress while Camilla looks wonderful in what I think is teal.

I agree with the comments that the Duchess of Cambridge looks too thin in the long blue dress. It appears to wear her down, rather than enhance her figure.
She has beautiful, attractive outfits for cocktail parties. Why couldn't she re-wear one that fits flatters her more? No one in that group would probably know the difference. (except the style critiques.)

The duchess of Cambridge's coat dress is too long. Why must she always wear those boring coat dresses ? She had beautiful ensembles in the past : skirt, blouse and little jacket or a dress and a jacket in the same fabric f. ex. When she is wearing a gala dress no queen or princess can compete with but when she must be dressed more bussiness like it is always a big no for me (except for the pant suits). MJ

Kate totally class, as always, in a more “ mature” dress here, very good for the occasion.

  9. I agree with all the complaints about this new calf dress length, It does not suit Catherine, it does not suit Letitia and it does not suit Maxima. Slavishly following fashion is not wise. I do not think those sharp exaggerated shoulder pads suit Catherine either. I also think the heavy eyebrow pencil or powder and mahogany coloured hair are not her best "improvements." Her hair has lost all its shine and bounce since she has taken to dyeing it entirely instead of the high/low lights she used to do.

Catherine dresses differently for occasions 1. when she is just one of many and it would be inappropriate to shine by means of what she wears and 2. when the occasion is simply a very much non-glamourous one. Yes, she has nice legs, but the point of her existence is not to show those nice legs on each and every occasion.

It is OK not to like what she wears, of course. But it would be very nice to also consider *her* point of view when choosing an outfit. (-Ann.)

    1. @Anonymous 2/11/21 08.40 The point of her existence my not be to show her legs on every occasion that does not mean she should suddenly embark on the latest fashion dress length that does not suit her and if you want to split hairs for a conference on climate change and trying to husband world resources uses up an awful lot of extra fabric for no good reason but that it is the latest fashion.

  11. Très jolie la robe-manteau bleue de Kate mais sa longueur ne va pas du tout à sa silhouette car cela l’amincit encore plus ; est-ce qu'elle a ressorti des boucles d'oreilles de sa petite collection Kiki que j'adore ?

Camilla's out fit is very nice. Catherine's dress does not flatter her body type and her make up is a little too heavy. -Lisa

Going by the description, its a coat, and not a coat dress. Catherine has chosen to wear as a coat dress. Which makes sense. I was thinking Catherine is tall, and she's wearing heels, so why does it look a little long even on her !
The colour is lovely and the accessories are complimentary of the outfit. Glad she wore her hair up.
William looking super handsome ! Ana

Not a very flattering option. And not re-wearing one of her hundreds of very similar dresses (or dress coats, if you prefer) is making a statement. Unfortunately the wrong type. At a time when everyone (everyone!) wore previously seen outfits to drive the message of stopping reckless spending (and in particular with fashion being the third largest polluter of all industries!) - she seems out of touch. Unfortunate IMO. Quite unfortunate.

    1. I am also in favor of more re-use from royal ladies. And Catherine's dress is too long.

Love the colour and style of Catherine's dress but agree that it could do with being a bit shorter to really work for her. Her hair, make up and jewellery also look good.

She tends to have quite a safe style (especially on home territory - some of her most interesting and flattering fashion choices IMO have happened on overseas tours) and that's fine by me - I just think of it as her everyday working style. Another poster further up mentioned Diana - the problem there was that sometimes people focused so much on her fashion that the causes she supported were overshadowed. I think Catherine has managed to largely avoid this pitfall with her conservative style choices.

And while I'm here I think Camilla looks ok.

Kate looks simply gorgeous in this blue dress. I also love her braided bun. She is one of the few women who can wear this longer fitted style, Queen Rania being another. The comparisons to Diana are a little ridiculous..by 25-30 years! My only complaint is we can't see her gorgeous legs! Ann B

Kate's dress is stylish but a warmer colour palette would suit her warm brunette complexion better. However, fashion soon becomes irrelevant when you think about the theme of the summit...

I think everyone is looking fabulous in their own individualities.
Kate is flawless, blue royal being the colour with red that best suits her.
I agree with@ Ann saying that Kate is one of many on this particular occasion and does not want to shine.
I think the Duchess chose the sobriety approach on purpose and was successful.
And...please, Prince Charles, mind the steps...
