On November 16, 2021, Queen Maxima of The Netherlands handed out the Prince Bernhard Cultuurfonds Prize 2021 to IVN Nature Education (IVN Natuureducatie) at the former radio station Radio Kootwijk. The Prince Bernhard Culture Fund (Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds) annually rewards persons or organizations that have made great contributions in the fields of culture, nature or science in the Netherlands.

The Cultuurfonds awarded the prize to IVN because it brings thousands of people into contact with nature every year and pays attention to groups for whom an interest in nature is not self evident. IVN organizes nature activities, courses and projects for young and old people by which they experience how fun, healthy and important nature is. The prize has an amount of 150,000 euros.

    1. Maxima is alas far from elegant : she has a nice face and ditto personality, but her movements and posture are not elegant at all!

    1. I agree with you. The cape and boots are good, but that dress is quite bad.

    2. I'm in 100% liking it camp on this one. Lovely colours in the dress. Love the cape (wish it was a tiny bit longer so that the dress didn't hang down at the back). Like boots, gloves, earrings. Great outfit

    3. Hate it. Why not buy a decent coat, there are so may wonderfull items. Never saw her wear one.

  4. Love the varying expressions on QM's face. Especially in photos # 5 and 6 where she seems to be gesturing that she could wear the artwork as a necklace, surely in fun!

Otherwise nicely put together using existing pieces from her wardrobe, great color combo. S.M.

  5. Love the coat and overall effect, and I am glad that we can only see a little bit of the dress peeking out, because IMO this dress is just not pretty. Again, she looks smashing with the coat on.

    1. These were my thoughts. I don't like the pattern of the dress at all, but covering it with the cape so it just peeks out makes the look work. I do like her in the cape. As deadeggs said, it is very Maxima. ~d

QMaxima doesn't wear capes only. She has other coats. Perhaps not the kind of coat-dresses or dress-coats Kate is wearing most of the time, but she has real coats. I prefer Kate's real coats which are very beautiful not the dress-coats.

It is not the cape that is too long. It is the uneven hemline of the dress which is not beautiful. On the picture of the model one can see that the dress is hanging lower at the back. I think this is due to the drapery on the stomach.

  13. How strange, Maxima's ensemble has some Tudor costume vibes in it.
    Just my impression.
Her smile is priceless as always.
