On November 4, 2021, Queen Letizia of Spain attended an official lunch at the Presidential Residence in Asuncion, hosted by President of Paraguay Mario Abdo Benitez and his wife Silvana Lopez Moreira. The Queen is making a 4-day working and cooperation visit to Paraguay to receive information about the work that the Spanish Cooperation carries out in Paraguay in the fields of health, education, culture and women.
The presidents's wife is beautiful and her outfit is gorgeous!

Sorry, I clearly misunderstood the situation. But the building seems very “presidential” to me, the lunch seems kind of official and It seems strange that the queen couldn’t find 10 minutes to change her clothes for lunch.

حذفI guess The First lady Silvana López-Moreira is not at prent in the best of moods. Earlier this summer she suffered the tragic loss of her sister, her sister's husband and their three children. All five were killed when Champlain Towers South, a 12-story condominium building in the Miami suburb of Surfside, collapsed. Poor lady, I don't know how one can get over a tragedy like that.

@W. In other pictures and news stories, the entire 'crew' all dressed in their vests were invited to the lunch as well as politicians and officials from Aid groups. It seems that the events ran consecutively on a tight schedule and ended with the lunch before QL said adios and returned to Spain. Perhaps she should have changed to be respectful to you?

On one of her visits to Central America, the government organized a dinner which was preceded by an exhibition where local artisans were able to make their work visible on a world stage because the cameras followed the Queen from on table to another. She dressed up! ..in a beautiful black off the shoulder lace dress. skyscraper heels, styled hair.
(the videos are still online). In the Spanish media, she was branded a starlet, (in her 40's!!) acting like she was the monarch, overly glamorous in a poor country, blah, blah. Now all of that is gone, and it is all strictly business, but wait, she has leaned too far in the other direction. Not to mention that the same outfit everyday leaves the critics with the reason for the trip in the forefront. It seems there is a hard core group who will never be pleased no matter what she wears.

Q. Letizia was criticized by Deputee Amarilla of the Liberal Party, actually.
ردحذفYes, the congresswoman criticized the queen, and although it’s her right to do so, her words were insulting and incredibly crass. She noted that if the queen would’ve gone to another country she would have dressed differently, she forgot to mention that the uniforms for the aid mission were commissioned to a Paraguayan company, and that this was an aid trip. The extreme left is anti monarchy and still blames Spain for the Colonization 500 years ago. I think she would have criticized the Queen regardless of her attire, because is political posturing, period. That being said, I am of the opinion that for this particular lunch she could have changed her uniform for a regular outfit, but I am sure that she followed the guidelines that the Government set for this trip, let’s remember that Spain is a Constitutional Monarchy, and The Royal House has to consult and conform with their current government.

Cherry, Spain actually is a Parliamentary Monarchy...not a Constitutional one. This model of parliamentary monarchy is found in parts of Western Europe (e.g. Belgium, Denmark, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain and Sweden) and in Cambodia, Japan, Malaysia and Thailand.

@Cherry. It was appalling that is woman cannot tell the difference between the princesses and queens in a Disney movie and a person who is there to serve the underserved in her country! If Letizia owns 10,000 euro dresses, they are very few, and she certainly never arrives in any country wearing such a thing. What is worse is that she went to the same Penafiel style tropes to insult the Queen, that she was poor girl who the prince fell in love with and implying that now she acts as if she is too good to favor the Uruguayans with her best clothes, instead wearing the same vest as her guard and secretary.
