  1. I finally take the view that i don't like the suit; the extra soft material makes it look like a pyjama. The color is however quite nice.

  2. There’s a lot of green right now... Colour is nice for her but otherwise the outfit looks terrible.

  3. Here is proof that any outfit can look bad even if it’s not terrible. The color is good, the pants flatter her figure, but somehow it looks like too much fabric, including the shawl. The matchy boots and bad hairdo don’t help either. Actually this is the kind of outfit that would benefit from a small brooch or a nice necklace….. but contrary to her custom she is not wearing anything to break that sea of green. There is one thing that I find puzzling, why is her purse on the floor? it’s unsanitary and looks bad, she travels with her staff, can somebody not hold it while she is busy conversing with people? , clearly she doesn’t need it at that precise moment, also the shawl sweeping the floor is just not a good optic.
All in all not terrible, but definitely could have been improved.

  4. Is that Maxima or a huge frog?

  5. I actually really like this outfit on Maxima, with and without the shawl/scarf. I think it is the jersey texture of the fabric, together with that lovely tone of green that does it for me, and definitely because the full outfit is all the same tone green, instead of being broken up by other elements. It is a relaxed outfit that looks smart, perfect for an evening of relaxed theatre.

  6. This outfit is nice, but the added scarf in the last picture is too much in my opinion. That should've been another colour/type of coat.
I think the whole outfit would have looked better if she had her hair in an updo and wore some of her excessive golden jewelry (bracelets and necklace).

  7. OMG....no,no, and no. This is a horrible outfit and she forgot to fix her hair again. She is one of my favorite royals, I love her work and personality, but geez.....this is just a huge wardrobe mistake. Sharri F

  9. I like the color very much. The jersey fabric is nice for the top and the scarf but not for the pants which should have been in wool/polyester. I think she should have left that scarf in the car. I know that queens and princesses often wear monochromatic outfits these days. Sometimes it works but here there is too much green going on (boots and maybe the handbag too, can't see the color very well). I don't even mention the bad hairdo anymore. Isn't there someone in her entourage that can give her a comb before she is going out.

  10. This is JAN TAMINIAU Pantsuit - The Attic 2016 Collection, and you can see her wearing it with a huge critter brooch here. https://www.newmyroyals.com/2017/03/dutch-queen-maxima-visits-single.html

I would have preferred black shoes over the green, and I see no need for the shawl. I find it to be too much of the same fabric. A coordinating coat would have been better. I don't hate this outfit. It is easier to look at than the array of dizzying colors, textures, and patterns she has been known to wear. The color flatters her. I don't think the sequins in the pant legs work, the sequins on the top are enough. Then of course that is probably what she found so attractive about this pantsuit. Given that, I can't imagine why she would leave the shawl behind to layer even more sequins on. ~d

  11. The bag on the floor, the shawl dragging on the floor, in today's world, that is just a "NO, don't do that!" moment. The continuous flow of drape green material is also a no. Too much of a good thing. The color is nice, but that's about it. Typical (sad to say) messy hair, completes the bedraggled look. clara

  12. A symphony in green, crowned by her terrible hairdo. Doesn't she have any friends or aides that can help her see how bad her hair is? I can't understand how she goes out day after day looking like that. Not queenly at all.

    1. I suggested long ago that her daughters might step in and tell her that she needed to do something about her hair. Daughters tend to do things like that. Apparently they don't think it is important, or Maxima isn't concerned. ~d

    2. I think I heard Dutch people do not have the same understanding of queenly style than most bloggers here. The appreciate more simple and soft features.
So if that is appreciated at home, why shouldn't she go on.

    3. MaryT, I think you have a wrong impression of the Dutch taste for fashion. Many of your co- bloggers here are Dutch and they are among the severest criticasters of Maxima’s choices.

  13. This green ensemble could look so much better , with a golden brooche or necklace for example, and with black, flat shoes.
The green boots degrade it, what is pity.
It is not bad in itself, and the colour is very nice for M., but now it is a if the neighbor is visiting instead of the Queen.

  14. Hmmm...love the color, even like the style. My quibble (besides her hair--but I think that is never going to change) is the boots. They are too heavy looking for this outfit--its like she has blocks on her feet. I think a shoe, a pump would have been a better choice--navy, black, or tan/beige would have been fine.

  15. @ Janet. Personally I like short boots with a winter or autumn outfit, for the royal ladies and for myself.

  16. What a beautiful outfit for Queen Máxima! Green is excellent with her complexion and hair color. Wha is most becoming is how the flowing material shows off her excellent shape! She is svelte yet shapely and this outfit shows off her curves in a very elegant way. Not many would look this good in this fabric.

  17. Love this day-to-day suit and the beautiful colour of it. And nice too that Máxima is re-using old clothes ( 2016) again, which she often does. The plateau boots awful. Enough has been said here about the hair. So we better get used to this chaotic coiffure.

  18. Très joli vert mais trop de fluidité dans le tissu ; je n'aime pas du tout celui de ses bottines !
