In her capacity as Advocate for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations, Queen Mathilde of Belgium attended the 3rd Global Mental Health Summit in Paris. The summit was first held in London in 2018 and then in Amsterdam in 2019. It takes place on October 5 and 6, 2021 and aims to stimulate exchanges between professionals, civil society and politicians.

During the summit, Queen Mathilde met with UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay to discuss global education issues following school closures and the growing number of school dropouts caused by the pandemic. Then, the Queen attended a working meeting with senior officials from the OECD to discuss the quality of global education, and mental well-being at schools and workplaces.

  1. Another nice plain dress which seems to fit well, is a great length and a lovely colour. My only gripe is that there seems to be something not quite right with the neckline but overall it looks good.

  2. Lovely color on Queen Mathilde! My only quibble is HM is short-waisted and that big belt is not particularly flattering--a thin belt would be a better choice.

Very, very nice. The neckline…. Could have been a better cut indeed. Everything else seems just about faultless.

    Very nice shade of blue.

If it were up to me, I’d skip the brooch on this neckline.

Oh dear! Did I just say “no” to a piece of jewelry?! Gotta lie down now and gather my senses….

Often, I’m a “more is more” kinda stylist, but today I’m in a “less is more” style mood. It’s all good, and Q Mathilde looks as engaging as ever.

  6. For me a NO to that hair styling, it ages her tremendously

Her hair isn't styled at all. Or she had to do it herself or her hair stylist didn't come with her to Paris. Her hair was better styled during lock-down than now. Normally we shall see pictures of her in the coming days. Her agenda is fully booked until 11th October. Probably she will have a good hair styling then (with the curls turn inside I hope).

  7. Robe dont la longueur et surtout la couleur la flattent beaucoup mais je trouve qu'elle est trop ras-du-cou ; de plus, je pense que la ceinture est trop large pour son buste - Très jolie broche !

The few things I like about the whole picture is the shade of blue, the shoes and the clutch and the brooch.
The dress is a bit too long. The skirt of the dress is too large for that kind of fabric.
The big belt is not flattering on QM (waist too high). I'd change the sleeves in straight ones. I know it is fashion but it makes the upper part of the dress too boxy. The designer tried to do something special with the neckline but the result didn't work very well... QM has other plain dresses which are so much better than this one. Sorry. M.J.

Shade of blue is beautiful, neckline, lovely, though leave off the broach, it somehow makes the neckline strangely crinkled. The belt; not a fan of, a thinner, low slung belt might have been nice, though one would have to check out various belts to find just the right one. Shoes/clutch are lovely color and her hair/makeup are very well done. jj

  10. What a gorgeous color! I like the shape of this dress, overall it is very flattering on her. I wish there was a little more draping at the neckline, I almost looks like it is just a fold/wrinkle now instead of a drape. And the belt is ok, but any wider would have been in Queen Maxima territory, a slightly thinner belt (tiny bit) would have hit it out of the park.

I love the style of the lady with short hair and trousers; her shoes and earrings are so stylish. Mathilde looks boring. These sustainable goals, are anything but; wake up; are the royals getting a back hander, oh look a republic would be a better model
