The Queen selected Queen Mary's Diamond Thistle Brooch for her lapel. Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall

On October 2, 2021, Queen Elizabeth II, Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall attended the opening of the sixth session of the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh. The Queen, the Prince and the Duchess met with Scottish party leaders before addressing members of the Scottish Parliament. The Queen selected Queen Mary's Diamond Thistle Brooch for her lapel, which she had worn on many Scottish occasions before.

  1. Everyone looks very elegant. Prince Charles is far better at wearing a kilt and coat than a suit. Far better fitting and sleeker than his sloppy double breasted suits. The queens thistle brooch is really stunning. I have not seen this one before not sure how I have missed it in the past. Camilla's coat with the tartan bits is very attractive and just the right length with just 2cm of the skirt peeking out it looks somehow extra elegant And hooray she found another pair of shoes which look really good and very comfortable. Her mask tones in beautifully too.

      Agree with you Nalerina.
PC better dressed in kilt and coat than in his sloppy suits.
Camilla : gorgeous shoes and handbag. She can if she will.
The Queen : beautiful color. I prefer this green than Camilla's green coat which is a little bit too short. Marcy

The Queen and Camilla are both looking fab! Great coats, great colour. Their hats are just perfection. Especially Camilla is dressed really stylish today. Charles is looking great in his kilt as well. A special word of appreciation also for the woman in the long blue dress.

  5. HM looks beautiful in her deep green! Always love seeing her big smile--it lights up her whole face. Camilla looks wonderful in her ensemble too asdid Prince Charles--he certainly knows how to pull off a kilt!

Sadly, Charles 'dress up outfits' are better looking than his day to day suits.

The Queen looks very lovely. clare

  9. A few minor but very important corrections:

In Scotland the Queen is known as Queen Elizabeth. She is the first Elizabeth Queen of Scots, not the second.

Similarly Charles would never be referred to as the Prince of Wales. In Scotland he is addressed as the Duke of Rothesay (or even Duke of Edinburgh, now that prince Philip has died).

Camilla is known as the Duchess of Rothesay (or Edinburgh) when in Scotland, never as the Duchess of Cornwall.

Either they are minor or they are very important - not possible for the points to be both.

Prince Charles is not addressed as the Duke of Edinburgh in Scotland even if he now holds the title. He is the Duke of Rothesay.

The Queen outstands her daughter-in-law in subtle clothing.
    She wears a beautifull combination.
Camilla: the white ……( donot know the English word) that comes from under her coat is too informal for the occasion as is her mask hanging on one ear.
Charles, as said: always better in kilt than in one of his baggy suits.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth looks lovely; I do like the green. A pity about Charles's knobbly knees. I like the feathers in the hats of the ladies; also the brooches look impressive.
