حذفI think that rigid dress codes have long since flown out of the window at least in my country. These days almost any length of dress as well as trousers seem to be worn at any and all but the most formal occasions.
Have you noticed how many royal ladies have jumped onto the newer very long below calf length and often very flowery fashion during daytime engagements whether it suits them or not. Victoria is wearing very simple jewellery, a simple dress all be it out of sequinned material. It just happens to be long this time. I don't think it was meant to be very formal just svelte and comfortably elegant. This sleekness certainly suits her far better than those high necked floral, floating apparitions she sometimes wears.
Victoria is beautiful. She wears silver well. The fit is perfect, the style hits the right note. Daniel should be in black to look like he dressed for this dinner. He looks no different than he does on any other occasion. Adding a black tie isn't enough in my opinion. That is also what men do for funerals. ~d

He could have had more elegant shoes as well, even though this is no tuxedo dinner but close enough.
Dress code "Dark suit" as it's called in Sweden. Ladies can wear both long or short dress to this, just as to a tuxedo dress code.

Stunning look from CP Victoria! She looks so pretty. I know this dress is labeled a maxi dress but it looks like an evening gown to me. The dinner appears to evening dress but not black tie--so Daniel is appropriately attired in a suit and tie. Really great appearance from the Crown Princess couple!
ردحذفGrey and silver seem to be her colours of the moment. Agree with all the positive dress comments above. And yes, it appears to be a get-together-dinner and not a black tie grand gala. So Prince Daniel's attire is correct for the occasion.

It's nice to see Victoria in such glorious dress she looks perfect, but the other two ladies are both in beautiful otufits too - it doesn't happen very often that I like most of attires that I see on the pictures.
ردحذفA gorgeous gala dress in the right silver colour. However I would like to see Victoria a little bit more with another hair-do. This is always so strict. Maybe with this dress ( without tiara) it would have been nice to wear the hair loose on the shoulder
